Big part of the loss tonight. Whoever taught him to not tackle cost us dearly

I don't think there is any problem with him except for the fact he may be tired due to the increased attention. I think that he would have been the perfect sub tonight and I imagine the coaches discussed that before opting for 'full game gut running'. What disappoints me more is this game would have been perfect for Morton to play the full game and now, due to a lack of match practice, he'll be shafted to bring Bolton in.

I've been one of his firm advocates over the past 2 seasons, but he was sooooo disappointing on Sat. I agree with others he looks a bit tired.

Happy to see him wear the vest this week or even rest completely if Jude comes back in, but he must come back for finals, nobody gives us what he can when he is up and about...

Even if we fail in the finals, we need to keep playing the young players. They have to get used to the idea of playing a full year and Lewis needs to find out how hard he has to work to break a tag. As for tackling, well, I wouldn't like to have to tackle Guerra iether, but that's just the way it goes with skinny kids, they are going to miss a few on bigger more experienced palyers, he wasn't the lone ranger in any case.

Jetta is 11 months younger than the guy who will probably win our best and fairest in Kennedy. Not sure we can call him a young player anymore

I call them young until they reach 24, when they stop growing and can make a serious assault on the weight room, start to fill out and mature properly. JPK is one of those people who is naturally strong and doesn't need to work at it, personally I think he may well win the B&F, but ROK might give him a run

And who will replace Jetts FFS you lot.
If ya looking to lay blame. Start with that Seven slob Bruce, it is his fault FFS for jumping on Jetts wagon!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a huge fan of jets, but at his current output, he's not worth having in the side. He's just not doing enough, and he's not using his weapons to his advantage. 10% improvement and its a different story. I dont think he's tired, his confidence has been shot after getting such close attention over the last month. I hope he can find something extra in the next couple of weeks because when he's on, he does things that noone else on the list is capable of. but he's gonna have to find that something extra fast.

I think with jets, it's back to developing aspects of his game and he'll be better for the experience next year.

Dew was on the bench giving jetta some pointers when we played hawthorn but it was like he was shying away from the feedback. Perhaps like he knows what he should be doing but just cant quite pull it off on the field. and it seems like the coaches have given him clear instructions but theyre either not working, or he's unable to implement them.

I just hope he finds a bit of space over the bext couple of weeks and re-discovers some of his early season form.

Rather have him out of form now than when it counts most...in the finals! One thing you can't discount is he is our leading goal kicker and you just don't drop your leading goal kicker. He may get the vest this week which will allow him to rest up a little (barring injury to someone) and perform the duties of super sub that will allow us to keep our position in the 'top two'. Whatever the case, persistence is the only thing required here!

Why does him being our leading goal scorer have anything to do with his potential contribution this week?

True, but he's been in the AFL system for a few years less, since he was only picked up at 20/21, wasn't he?. Still only a 3rd year player, and has time to play a bit of catch up in an aerobic fitness/work ethic.

I'm not sure it'll ever happen, though. I do think he's likely to have a bit more of a crack in the finals, since lazy-but-gifted players generally do.

Jetta needs Rohan back to offer alternative pace, he is drawing attention away from Jack and others though mind you.

I agree though with the idea of him starting sub v the cats, needs a burst for confidence going into finals

It's a secret plan by the coaches and Jets to look as if he is fading come finals then as soon as finals start (channelling that k*ob Bruce) he's going to go BAAANG!! With this plan in mind I expect to see him kick between 15-25 goals between now and the final siren GF day........

How does it not? Potentially, all the players could stuff up or be superstars this week couldn't they? You're the bloke championing for Cloke to come to the Swans and he is playing absolute shit football but potentially...he's a star and that is why he is still getting a game for Collingwood. What's the difference?

Wouldn't say I'm championing it, but if you're comparing Cloke's form to Jetta's, I think there's an obvious answer about why they're different cases.

No I'm not comparing their form but the fact is...you never drop your leading goal kicker! Didn't we discuss this earlier?

And I, and others, have asked why his form in the first 15 weeks should be an excuse for his form in the last 7 weeks? I don't see the relevance? I don't think there was a discussion, you never answered it.

Haven't really seen anybody say he should be dropped per se, a fair few posters, me included, think he may benefit from a rest this week, either as a sub or rested completely. He absolutely positively must be starting week 1 of the finals...

This is an ugly point! Longmire has been rubbish at bringing on the sub at the right moment, so far this season. He seems to wait too long! Doesnt give the sub enough time to have some influence on the game. The art of bringing on the sub has forced coaches to be very clever. This whole subs thing sucks. And clubs should tell the AFL mafia that we want the old interchange rules back!

Are you guys actually serious? If we didn't have Jetta in the team we would have no flare. He is our leading goal scorer with 40 goals for the season, at least half of which have been from outside 50. He's either just taken the pedal off for the last few weeks or he has lost his confidence. But one thing is for sure, come finals, Jetta will tear the opposition apart from left right and centre. We wouldn't even be top 4 without Jetta this year and he has been arguably the most improved player in the AFL of 2012.
not only does jetta just run and carry, he brings up crucial game winners like this at 3:15

That was a long time ago

Rested? Dropped? What's the difference when you're not picked for the 22? I think you had better read the threads a little more as there are plenty wanting Jetta dropped!

Why not? Why shouldn't he be picked? Do you have a valid reason for his dismissal from the team? I doubt it, you can't cover his place in the team with anyone else and if you can...name that player! Stop being a moron and realize his place in the team is guaranteed because of his outstanding overall season and his ability to turn a game on its ear through pure excitement and ability to score!

I think people are forgetting that even when he has quiet games, Jetta is attracting the opposition's number 1 tagger. That's big. It's freed up Kennedy massively, for one. While he's attracting the number 1 tagger, he's still worth having in the team.

Now, I think we should rest him for Geelong, let him get refreshed for finals, but he needs to be back in the team for the qualifying final.
