Lets keep a running list of what Crazy old Jim from Hawthorn has to say on his many calls to SEN.

He would have to the most deluded supporter i have heard except for maybe Billy from Heidelberg:thumbsu:

He has seen more premierships than you. I know Jim.

Dude, don't get too big for your boots. It has been 54 years since your last and 37 since you played in one. Try being humble and keeping a lid on it, Geelong have finally learnt how to that.

Mate, try telling some of your Hawk brethen that. From the start of the year it has been Hawks and Cats supporters pumping themselves up more then any other.

Cats one a flag, they earnt it and deserve too.

I'm not arrogant about our chances for the rest of the year, but i will say this. What has Hawthorn done in the last 15 years that the dogs haven't? They have nothing to be cocky about either.

Jimmy's alright. He's just a mad, passionate Hawk fan who likes to wind some people up. He isn't deluded. He's been ringing up the radio stations for years, sticking up for his team when the commentators were sticking the boots into us. In the past, he's said we're a young team with a ways to go, but we'd get there eventually. Nothing deluded about that.

I'm guessing you started this thread because Jim said something along the lines of "The Bulldogs are overrated. We'll beat them in the finals, mark my words..."

Let's see how things pan out, Bulldogrob. You guys are flying at the moment, but along with Geelong and Sydney, you have had the best run with injuries of any team in the AFL, so far in 2008. We'll all saw your club fold like a house of cards in 2007, when a few key players got injured. There's still 9 weeks until September...

It didn't take long to bring up the "we've won more premierships than you" argument.

It's actually been 47 years since we played in one.

Getting back to the point, when crazy old Jim comes on and spouts his rubbish, my radio is turned off immediately.

I dont think hawthorn supporters have been cocky maybe the media have built them up but no hawk supporter is saying we are going to win the flag in 08..

And as far as the doggies go they have been very lucky to date that the teams they have beaten are either below them and or have suffered some injuries ie: Pies, Hawks...
Time will tell who is the better.............

I used 2 think he was ok..

But ever sinve that call to Fienny a couple of weeks ago, talking bout 2001 finals, and the umpiring, that was it!!

Fienny had him on toast, but he just went on & on..& on...& ooonnn..

That wasnt their year, they had a good patch, but they were nowhere near the best side..

Anyway, I now realise he's a lonely, biased, grumpy, arrogant twit!

What has Hawthorn done in the last 15 years

WTF has this got to do with anything?

Are Hawthorn fans supposed to stay quiet, not post on here or ring up talkback shows until we've won the flag?

Should we ban all non-Geelong callers and posters on Big Footy?

Which club doesn't have fans who get carried away?

Even if Hawthorn did win the flag, why then does that give us fans the right to be arrogant and cocky?
None of us kicked a goal or won a contested possession.

There is nothing sillier than imbeciles who act full of themselves, simply because they barrack for a football team.

Jim from Hawthorn and Billy from Heidelberg talk so much shit, they contradict themselves all the time.

The question is what have that Hawks done in the last 50 years that the Dogs havent.

I haven't heard much about Jim from Hawthorn.

But these days I turn on SEN and hear a lot of calls made from Billy of West Heidleberg...

He makes most his calls with Mark Franklin on Late Night Sport... This guys seriously must never sleep. It must be the caffeine from all the coke he drinks!!!

Fair call on the injuries, however you can only play who is out on the park at any given time.

However, when your team is top 3 on the ladder, most weeks the teams you play will be below you.

he's a lonely, biased, grumpy, arrogant twit!

You've just described 90% of the callers...

I don't agree with everything Jim has to say, but he loves the Hawks and he can string a sentence together, so that makes him better than many of the numbnuts who get air time.

I wonder if people would give a shit if he had an Aussie accent instead of the Scottish brogue...

I heard him call up 3AW after the Hawks vs Brisbane game earlier in the year.

He went on and on about how good Hawthorn game and said "Boys, that was the best game I have ever seen!"

Healy and Russell had been discussing some incident with Jordan Lewis and a deliberate out of bounds and asked Jim what he though.

He started stuttering "...um...ah.....um...I didn't actually see the game boys but my brother said it was ridiculous!"

He is such a Hawthorn supporter.

Do all Hawks supporters have a chip on their shoulder about the Dogs?

Injuries or no injuries the fact is that we were better on the day down at York Park.

As far as being lucky, I guess you're right Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney aren't that great.

Oh, and at the moment, there's only one team above us as well.

You need an ounce of luck to win Premierships and injuries are probably the main component of that. With the exception of Matty Egan, Geelong had a good run last year as did the Eagles and Swans in the years before them. It's about time we had a reasonable run because injuries have been cruel to the Doggies for the last three seasons or so. Having said that, we still won a final in 2006 with key players out... last year's fadeout wasn't all about injuries though... some internal grumblings which have since been rectified had a bit to do with it too. But injuries happen and that's a part of footy.

Back on topic, Jim is no better or no worse than the majority of serial talkback callers... it's just that his thick Scottish accent is so instantly recognisable!

You do realise that we have played the vast majority of the season without our number one ruck (also one of the best in the comp). We have gone all season without our CHB. Games without Scarlett, Ablett and Chapman. Not to mention quite a few others.

All very important players and certainly not a good run with injuries. Not bad, but not good either. But that's footy!

If its been so long since the Dogs won a flag (and same for my team obviously)

When was the last time the Bulldogs won the minor Premiership?

Everyone has deluded supporters. What are you trying to pull? Is EVERY bulldogs supporter humble and realistic about the were the side is at all the time?

Get a life
