Whilst I respect Champion Data and they are reliable as the one major source of footy statistics, their prediction models are skewed by the weighting of individual talent.

For that reason they always forecast Collingwood to do well because of their elite individual midfielders dragging the overall average quality of the side up. What they fail to account for is that the rest of the team are poor individually and even worse as a cohesive unit.

Same reason they often underestimate the Eagles, our lack of midfield stars brings us down in their model but tends to over perform as a group. I think last year was the exception when the presence of Sam Mitchell along with Priddis etc meant our modelling was more optimistic than it should have been.
