I am a week away from finishing school for the year and i was hoping to earn some much needed cash for the holidays but i don't have a job atm. I was just wondering if anyone knew what places are the best to try for a casual job for the christmas holidays.
Thanks

I think your a bit too late now to get a job before Christmas. Normally this is all done between late September and early November. This is due to the fact that you will need to have an interview, have an induction and training and it's too busy for employers to do that when they are so busy (from late November onwards). You can try still but it's doubtful that you will get a job now.

Only places that I'd try are McDonalds, KFC, a Pizza Shop and Hungry Jacks.

**** getting a job, just mooch as much as possible from your parents and party until school starts again next year. Or go and work on a fishing boat like on that T.V. show

Yeah don't worry about getting a job, unless you want to build up your assets. You can probably get a job in a factory without too much fuss, helping machines to make things and then putting them in boxes. It can be fun if you work with ppl you like talking to.

might not be TOO late

i went into red rooster north geelong on tuesday to apply for a job at the new red rooster on the highway in corio (next to harvey norman at the entrance to geelong). handed in my resume, had a chat with the manager etc...

two hours later, rang up, said i had a job, told me i didnt need an interview and i had to go in soon to get an employee pack

go in, fill it out (codes on conduct, bank details, uniform), handed it back today and he said i should be able to start mid-late this week

bloody good as it was the first place i applied for :p
