They can take a bit of metal and the "title" from him, but they can never take the prestige of the night, and subsequent days events/ write ups. They can never take his financial rewards from the win. And can never take his memories of such a memorable time.

To make it clear, I think he should have to give it back.

Clearly knew he would be stripped. There was no alternative.

Watson had a career best year in 2012. In that year he took performance enhancing drugs and ultimately served a 12 month suspension for doing so. The disgrace is that the AFL didn't have the balls to strip him of the medal and instead went through this drawn-out charade and allowed him to hand it back.

Mitchell and Cotchin must be awarded as the best and fairest players from 2012.

So what happens now? Are Cotchin and Mitchell awarded a medal each?
Congrats to Richmond and West Coast on their new Brownlow Medallists.

Is there anyway one can be given to Cotchin, but not Mitchell?

The other way around please... Mitchell has been one of the most elite midfielders for a long time in terms of his contributions to Hawthorn's success.

Sorry why are people praising him exactly? The fact that it was even his decision is a ******* disgrace on the AFL's behalf, and the fact that he's taken so long to hand back a best and fairest medal when he was a drug cheat is even more of a ******* disgrace.

A ******* disgrace all round. The AFL, Essendon and Jobe should be ashamed of themselves.

It shouldn't have been his decision to make, if Gil and his cronies had any balls they would've taken it off him immediately after the last appeal failed.

A complete lack of leadership once again which put so much pressure on Jab, he was left with no option.

I'm guessing he had a deadline to give it back or the commission decides for him, looks better this way as the journo's/fan bois can now say how brave he was.

Another managed outcome
