Just interested as to where he is at as far as contract etc. I read he is contracted until 2017 however can Essendon see him leaving? Would anyone be interested? Does he play on next year?

Honestly I wouldn't mind to see him running around for the Eagles, would certainly add grunt that we lack. However that is highly unlikely given his roots/family etc ( although Tim was an eagle for about a minute if that..)

Tried to find a thread on him here and couldn't. So........

Imo this probably would have been his last year but because of what has happened next year will be. Looking at it from a cold hearted view there is no benefit in having him come back for a year but thats up to him

Why? So you can boo him

Yes it's only Essendon or retire, and that's still very much up in the air.

West Coast would be as close to last on the list as you can be for teams he would play for.

you know how quickly people turn, look at Jetta and his war dance, no one cared once he came across (although they might if he doesn't start playing decent footy)..

BUt for genuine reasons we lack that bull in the middle that can drift forward and kick a goal, which he is, I think our plan is for Redden to fill that role. However, Jobe is still an a grade player. He could also provide that extra piece towards a flag and is a match winner (which we also lack)

But yes i imagine WC is the least likely he would play for.

I am thinking retire. would be a disappointing end though to go out like that though.

It is sad, he is the player that has suffered the most from the saga and is at a stage in his career where he can't really make up for it (ie through a few good years of footy)

Jobe Watson is the last person in the league I want playing for us and we're thankfully the last club in the league he would want to play for

Why? We gave Murray Newman a chance.. The group that is currently banned is serving their time currently, at the point when that ban is complete, they are eligible to play again..give the guy a chance. Sure he players/club etc made some bad calls and as result have been heavily penalised at some point it has to be behind them and allowed to move on.

When has he admitted his fault?

I don't know...and I don't know the inner workings of the program, so can't comment on it. Any who this is not about that, more so about what happens to him next year and beyond..although i do understand it has to be part of the discussions.

If he has even admitted fault or turned ib his Brownlow I am very much against it. A person of his character is not a figure we want at the club.

Fortunately he has a similar lack of interest in playing for us.

Only 32 at the start of next season, Will play 2 years!

I reckon after a year off and especially at his age along with the midfield position, he will struggle to get back

I may be wrong but its only my opinion, he should retire

If the year off is going to benefit anyone physically its older players such as Jobe and Stants. He would likely spend a decent amount of time rotating forward where his size and grunt work would come in very handy, especially for F50 stoppages.

You could be right re: the physical side of his game but if they take the Brownlow off him before next season starts, that's going to take a toll mentally

Also might be a reason to spur him on for a couple of years, we shall see

His old man came back after a year off at the same age, that went alright. Hopefully West Coast do make a play and help history repeat itself...

Don't think he'll be back. From what I've heard being painted as a lier by the WADA panel when in his mind he was 100% honest throughout the whole process has left him very disillusioned with the AFL as a whole.

Will be back on a 1 or 2 year contract. Still speaking to Woosha regularly and plenty at the club reckon he is fitter than ever
