just a discussion about jobs, which one your in currently and if you see your self changing in the future

I work in a pro shop at one of the two golf courses in town and enjoy it, have never had any problems with the members or my boss

I don't have a job but would like one.

If anyone wants a credit controller/collections agent, I will ring up your debtors and hassle them within legal limits.

Other avenues of work considered.

I can write stuff for you.

I paint houses for a living. Not sure if I want to keep doing it. It's hard work and the pay isn't great when compared with other trades. Getting dangerously close to being too old to change proffession.

If '86' stands for your birth year then you're nowhere near 'too old to change professions'.

I've changed profession once and career path twice. As long as you don't mind forfeiting some of the seniority/pay that comes with experience then it's no hassle at all.

I work in finance for an engineering firm in Perth. Sellling an investment property in about 3 months time after which I will resign and not work for a while. I've worked full time since I finished school so I'm looking forward to it.

Heading over to London for a couple of years later in the year/early next year with the GF so will look for a job in finance/banking over there.

I am a labourer for an agency, just get sent round the western suburbs industial areas to unload containers and do jobs, its ****ing shit work but I will probably do it until I finish uni

I got sacked from container loading after one day. For talking!

I was unloading blocks of ice with fish inside them. Terrible job.

Got a casual job at Macca's last year as you. Want to raise a few thousand over half a yearish and then finish

I work in retail in a super busy store

Wouldn't have it any other way. Less pay than my last job (have only had 2) but a lot less stress

The company i work for has already paid for me to do my TAFE retail certificates (completed) and have just started my Uni diploma in retail management also being paid for

I work at a college as a janitor even though I feel like I'm smarter than most of the people who go there. Sometimes I see an equation written on a blackboard like half an equation and... I just figure it out. My best friend is Ben Affleck.

Is this Good Will Hunting?

....this sounds a lot like the plot of Good Will Hunting

I work in Medical Imaging.

I find the trolleys at that supermarket that people have not returned and collect the coin they chucked it in it, its tonnes of pressure and stress with good says & bad days

Currently working at Dick Smiths casually, love it. Great job and great pay + commission for casuals and the ideal job while studying.

I'm studying a degree in networking and security.

Not sure if I could be bothered going through an apprenticeship again. Although I think I heard the government is making it easier for older people to gain qualifications if they've had experience.

I'm pretty limited to what I can do due to a misspent youth.

I work at a top tier law firm, currently in ligitation. I say top tier not to brag but to given indication on how much much I'm a slave. No way I can last doing this forever. Maybe move in to more cruisey area of law.

There's always Masterchef.

ICT Professional Services, currently in a Sales/Consulting role for a large networking technology MNC. After 14 years in the industry I've just about had enough and would love to pursue my hobby and passion full time, property.
However, my current remuneration is quite good based on my experience, so it might not be the best move to walk away from that at the moment. Something about making hay while the sun is shining.

I used to work at Tricky Dickies as well, part time for a few months when I was studying for my engineering degree.
The best part about it was the cool neck tie as part of the uniform which had the design of a circuit board and resistors on it, something like this:

Looking back now it was totally geeky but at the time I thought it was cool :)

I used to work in freight forwarding as the customs broker's bitch (i.e. compiler). Got "promoted" to work in ocean imports for a while, but then resigned to go back to uni and torture myself so I can get a law degree and go into practice. I'm only one year away from graduation now.

I didn't mind the old job but being a lawyer is what I've always wanted to do, so from my point of view, it's worth the sacrifice (from getting about $40K a year to less than $10K).

Work in a computer shop as a purchasing officer, and back up the sales guys when they need it. Can be a bit of pressure if things aren't arriving on time or when suppliers fk orders up (reasonably regularly). Includes Saturday work which i hate, but otherwise am happy with it. Great boss and colleagues too which is worth a lot.

Have started up my own sports agency whilst at Uni and since I'm graduating this semester I will be focusing full time on that. Will be good to give my clients everything they need without worrying about Uni. Used to work Summers and school holidays with my Dad as a carpenter, loved every minute of it. You have no idea how often the skills come in handy in general life.

Work as a mail sorter/processor, feel overworked because other staff are either injured/old farts/lazy/clueless about people management. More frustrating than anything when you bust your backside off only to have more shit dumped on you for no good reason. Would consider a transfer first rather than a career change, but only if there's affordable available accommodation and transportation.
