This young man plays for West Adelaide U'19's and has had a solid season. Plays at Full-Back but IMO is too short for the position 186 cm.

This young boy has an excellent work ethic and I could see him running around in our forward lines creating havoc.

With speed drills and a bit of weights he could be an absolute GUN. I think the Club should look seriously to recruiting him.

Thoughts??

going on past history playing for wests means hes going to perth or Melbourne
might need to get a game at the eagles !!

mind you i think we have enough of those sorts of players , unless he is going to be a midfielder cant see the crows going after him (unless he plays HBF because the crows love HBF's)

Just between you and me; Port and Brisbane are looking at him.;)

I want him in our colours; a gun in the making; needs to be moulded and given other responsibilities on the field.

Midfield he could make; needs to work on speed and agility and that comes from playing outside Full Back, where he has been wasted at Westies.

thats interesting but i suppose if there is potential why not rookie list him ?

what about Peter Sheppard darwin guy who kick a ton up in NT last year ( if it is peter sheppard) saw him in action a few times seems like he can take a grab and kick a goal ? but maybe is the same thing as welsh

How big is he?? Good lead?? Interesting; I've never heard of this fella. Sounds like the type of player at least 10 Clubs would look at.

What NT side did he play for? Anything I can surf for??

Just changing tack for a sweet second, on the AFL site in an article about Richmond, this was mentioned...

"Amongst the likely top contenders to be picked up by the Tigers include Victorian Country midfielder Brett Deledio, South Australian on-baller Ryan Griffin, Western Australian centre-half-forward Lance Franklin and the Northern Territory's exciting goalkicking midfielder Richard Tambling."

Seems to me that our chances of getting Griffin are pretty remote. :(

Non existent by the sounds of it

We will have to hope one of Monfries or Eckermann last until pick 8.

The hopeful pick 24 we can get Wood or maybe Meyer.

I dont think we need anymore young forwards, we have Jericho, Hentschel and Watts to hopefully develop and Welsh will be around for a while yet. I think our priority has to be some young tough midfielders and a ruckman who can play around the ground.
In saying that I wouldnt mind another Modra :D

sheppard is an under sized full forward.... set the world on fire early in the year for the bloods but has done very little since and i wouldnt be wasting a pick on him

I think this is right.....we need to build an onball B team - I think Reilly will fit the bill but the shirleys/bodes etc are not up to it.
Half our problem is the decision making going forward..either kicking to the pockets (and I know the bloody fwds lead there) and crap disposal - I think only Roo can put it lace out these days. We are going to be most exposed in the midfield in 4 years with Goody/Macca/Roo/Edwards all past it...so we need to focus there now

if we are looking for a young full forward with talent then we should draft Adam Hartlett, was in the Under 18s team this year but did his hammy badly in the 1st mins of the 1st game, played all year for westies ressies most of the year, but has spent the last few weeks in the 19s in his come back from injuries and has been playing well! PLayed 1st 18s for SHC last year and was a dominant forward, also trialled at full back by 18s coach Darren Trevena. Our biggest problem is actually getting him, essendon are keen, Sheedy has already spoken to him on numerous occasions, was going to pick him up last year but went for young quick midfielders instead and was too young to be put on the rookie list.

peter sheppard and salim hassan (was on port adelaide's rookie list) came and played in our league NCFL in the year 2003 i think, for donald, both players were outstanding, hassn picked up a few 40 possession games and sheppard took some spectactular grabs clearing packs. his kick better than excellant and he has alot of speed. there both worth a crack at any club
