Who are your 'great' defenders?
Mackie? Henderson? LOL
Post Enright - Tamling would be your best defender.

Um...he left at the end of 2014. At the time he was competing with all of Lonergan, Taylor, and Rivers.

He'd be handy now, but at the time he couldn't crack a single game in three years.

The Bulldogs rotated their key defenders through Cameron Patton and Lobb. If I had to guess I would say Hamling and Morris sort the most time on Cameron with Roberts, Wood and even Biggs playing on him at times depending on who was on the field

One interesting tactic was that Lobb spent a lot more time up forward than usual meaning that GWS thought they could exploit what they thought was a weakness in the Bulldogs back line

I remember when Freo made the grand final and we had a Zac Dawson thread on the main board. Good times.

and selection of this photo because?
The guy was a good ordinary footballer, good enough at least to play for 2 AFL clubs. The ridicule he cops for not being Buddy is ridiculous.

It's the third photo in his google image search. Go check.

It's the first one of him in action.

Maybe you can go take it up with Google.

He did some good things but he had a couple of horror moments. Push in the back that gave GWS a goal in the first quarter and he got a kick run down by Greene that led to a goal. I'm more impressed with how well their midfield and other defenders did (Wood, JJ, Boyd, Morris and Biggs were awesome) so that Roberts and Hamling were so rarely exposed 1 on 1.

Lobb spends the majority of his time up forward in most games. They used him the same way they always do from what I saw.

story even funnier because the cats got smashed in the other prelim
Yeah, but he still wasn't getting a game with us. Id love to have the sort of depth in the middle that the Dogs do, but let's face it, he's not getting a game ahead of Taylor, Henderson, Lonergan and Kolodjashnij.

First google photo should be him burning off Scotty Burns and goaling on the run from outside 50 in his first pre-season game for us...good times....

He spends quite a bit of time on the wing, especially in the second half of the year. I don't think he spent one minute there yesterday.

I've always assumed that was him just leading up as the CHF, starting off from the forward 50, to provide a marking target. Never really took it as him playing as a wingman, as such.

I remember his first game against the dogs and thought wow, this guy is a gun - he was dynamic and skillful.

what happened?

hamling - I like that he has confidence in himself. probably not even justified, but he is what, 195cm, very quick and athletic? he may just continue to improve year on year and be a really decent player. stranger things have happened.

Taylor is almost cooked

Making a name for himself in the finals series. Hated him after the number he did on JK which was based on Bulldogs team defence also but he gave Cameron a good old fashioned pantsing last night.

From the scrapheap to arguably the best defender in the 2016 finals series and a premiership.

All hail the Hammer

Beat Buddy, assisted by Buddy's rolled ankle in the first 5 minutes.

Beat everyone he played on all finals.

Buddy's rolled ankle wasn't that bad. The bigger hindrance was poor man's Tom Boyd getting in his way a lot.
