Why? Hes had glandular fever this season.. Give him a break.
In 2003 he played 13 or so good games, and then was ruled out for the rest of the year with osteitis Pubis. He only turned 20 this year, why would u even suggest giving up on him?
Sheedy hasnt even given up on Henneman yet, and he is from memory 3-4 years older.

Reynolds is reported as being one of the quickest at essendon and i believe with a full pre season in him we will see why he is a talent!

He's got potential. His pace and ability to mark could make him a very good wingman, it's just be seen if he can get the body up to strength and learn how to find more of the footy.

One more year then that's it. He's not a natural footballer. Could hardly pick up any touches at TAC level, not encouraging signs for him to be a midfielder at AFL level.

He as hard to judge as injuries have not given him a clean run at making it as a top line footballer. If he can get a full pre-season and injury free year next year then we will be in a better position to judge.
He certainly has ability beyond your average league footballer, but there have been plenty of talented players fall by the wayside.

I am a little worried about the amount of groin injuries he gets young Joel, so that if he is to get fit, that would certainly be looked at..but, he DID have glandular fever this year..so watch the criticism on this boy.

Considering his year was wiped out by inury and illness some of the above comments are a bit harsh. If he had flopped in the magoos all season then sure give him the chop.

Sam Hunt didnt flop in Bendigo, in fact he should have been up for selection fot the essendon team many times, instead of say, Henneman?.

Either way he should stay at the bombers. Pretty similar to Wellman would give us a lot of run off half back

The coaching staff know the capabilities of their players more than you do. Ever thought that Sam Hunt might not be up to senior football. A good VFL footballer perhaps. Has to take the next step if he EVER has aspirations of playing in the seniors. He hasn't done that.
I'd believe the coaching staff before a believe the bleatings of fans with their blinkers on.

Nobodys going to know if he can stand up to afl football unless he gets a damn CHANCE. You say he may not be up to afl level.. theres one way to find out isnt there?
Hes been emergency a couple of times yes, but why not give him a game?
I never said hed be an all out star, but the facts are hes capable of giving run off half back, Has performed quite well in the Vfl, and easily warranted selection above other blokes who dont even perform that well in the vfl.
You suggested his name to someone talking about people flopping in the vfl. Simply, he hasnt been a flop there. In Fact you even said he may be a very good vfl player, so where were you going with that in the first place?
