Had this discussion today with people who are close with the clubs administration and said Barker is one of the most liked at the club by staff and players, is very admired, but the administration don't believe he has the mongrel in him to have the top job, but its unlikely the club will move him on from his current position

Will come down to the new senior coach most likely, unless Barker has had enough knowing he's peaked and moves on himself

Question must be asked of the football department (Liddle, Lloyd), apart from being a top bloke, what does Barker actually add to the club?

If being a great bloke is of that much importance, find a role for him away from the football department... Like a great bloke counsellor or something.
