So when did we trade Johncock to Freo? Seems the Heraldsun have as much problems with facts as do the Advertiser :D

So you've had Johncock traded and Meesen delisted so far this week. On the positive side, KG and Cornes think Ryan Willits is on your rookie list ... ;)

Meesen + stiffy. just giving us advance notice :D

So Freo are going to finish bottom. We have given them Stiffy for the no 1 draft pick and delisted meesen so that Freo can pick him too? ;)

Freo fans also have nothing to worry about with Mcpharlins ribs, as apparently Ian Perrie crashed into a Westcoast Eagles player, according to Chris Mcdermott that is.

I am truly astonished that people that are apparently experts on the game and get paid a lot of money for their "expert" opinions continually make such mistakes.

I think anyone on Bigfooty would be able to call the correct names more often than any of Chanels 10's commentators.

Just on that... why is it that the so called "experts" sit there (and I'm referring mainly to Robert Walls and Mike Sheehan but I am sure there are others) who sit there and pass judgement on teams/players/coaches and then turn around and say they "didnt watch" the game. Seems to me they are PAID to watch EVERY game. Hell if we can do it as fans, they absolutely HAVE to! Really :D:D:D:Des me off! There's no excuse - foxtel has a replay of EVERY match and there are seven days in the week. What the hell is wrong with them? Experts my ass!

On a similar note last year (when I was in Perth) Chris Mainwaring was interviewed on 6PR regarding the AA team (that's All Australian not Alcoholics Anonymous).

He was asked about Ben Rutten. His response was that he didn't know as he had only seen ONE Crows game all year (you can guess which one as at that stage we had played WCE once).

How the hell can someone be an AA selector and watch one frigging game of footy a week? I sure hope it is an honorary role and these guys don't get paid for being an AA selector.

Unbelievable.

Sheehan and Walls are similar. Regularly fess up to not seeing teams play. It is unprofessional and lazy, especially when it doesn't stop them from having an opinion!

i dunno if it's quite as bad as that. Say mainwaring hasn't see that much of Rutten, hardly matters/mattered? He's there to give comment and colour on behalf of the WA players and make sure their case is aired.

So AA selectors only push the barrow of players in their state????

No wonder half the selcection make no sense at all!:D

Yes and thats why you have a selector from each state. For a number of years we had Neil Kerley and despite his best efforts Nathan Bassett and Tyson Edwards missed out last year.

From this year onwards, Kerls has been replaced with Bickley.

Well it seems to me that selectors, no matter where they are from, should be looking to pick the best team no matter where they are from! It may mean one year that there are NO interstaters in the AA or, god forbid, NO VICTORIANS! If their form doesn't warrant it, they shouldn't make the team, no matter who does the lobbying on their behalf.

I am not sure how it is done now but I would like to see selectors watching EVERY game all season so that they can make informed decisions and base it on who was the best player for that position all year (not just be looking at players from their State or team). Easy enough to allocate a point system for players based on an agreed criteria. Then once scored, all players with the top scores in that position are discussed and a decision made.

Does anyone know how the AA team is actually picked?

Similar to the way any footy side is picked, I think.

I'm pretty sure they meet a few times during the season and compare notes then have a big round-table discussion at the end of the year.
