How promising does he look??

He did miss a few marks etc, but he's very impressive. I love the way he is able to move around the ground so easily, which is something our taller guys have lacked.

Even when Longmuir returns, I am sure they could find a useful spot for him?

He was OK. Did a couple of nice things but let himself down a couple of times by not showing enough intensity. He looks alright but he will probably have to make way for JLo.

This kid is going to be a special player in a few years time.In the games I have seen him play this seasone he is prepared to put his body and take the hard stuff to protect the smaller players. He plays a little bit like Clem Michael used to has good recovery and makes second efforts after centre bounce downs.
Kenny when did he lack intensity.I think you have to look at the way he plays when he may appear to lack intensity then that is just the way he goes about his game.I don't think he lacks it just that that is the way he is.I think it is just one of the traits of several of the aboriginal boys they just are cool players.
I think if you watch him play closely you will see he gets his body in and protects the smaller guys and is usually one of those right at the bottom of the pack. And what must be remembered is he has only played a handful of games.

Played well enough to retain his spot, may also be used as extra tall defender with Polak out.

I agree. I think he could become quite useful in defense.

The real positive for Johnson is his ability to play forward, ruck or defence. Handy tall to have around because of this and also part of the reason why he would get a game over Sandi IMO. I liked the way CC gave JLo another week to recover and gave Sandi and Johnson some time in the centre, sandi so he can maybe recapture some form and Johnson to give him some more experience!

Love seeing the way Johnson lopes around the field like he's hunting something! Reminds me a bit of the ungainly Richo!

He nearly took out pav 3rd quarter. R H Forward. Should have laid a sheppard.

Healy said "he will learn" the opinion seems to be he is gonna go places.

3 weeks ago no one heard of him. just big a ? on the opposition white board.

Thats gonna change.

He needs a bit more upperbody weight. He should be our no1 pick on the bench.

Anyone else reckon he must be TI's love child. DNA testing might be required. We lost Clem early, the next Michael Jnr is still a few years away, so MJo fills the gap nicely.

(And apologies to Mr and Mrs Johnson if this is all just pub gossip... your little boy looks like he'll be a star, regardless of his bloodlines!)

Loved his mark in the first quarter on the half back line. Really put it in to get there and then went across the pack-

And really good to see the "Pope" on the boards again

Better prospect in my opinion than 211, his raw abilities far out weigh that of 211's, everything else can be developed.
The fact that Bell is a better mark than 211 is enough for me to loose faith in the kid, we need someone that is capable around the ground. I believe Johnson can be taught to be a very good tap ruckman, his pace, marking ability and kicking are already there.
Far tougher prospect than teaching 211 to mark and use his height.

Don't lose faith in Sandilands. Players around his height hit their peak form around 26-28 years old. And have a couple devestatiing years then dissapear. Well worth the wait since he's considered the best HUGE 210cm+ player for his age. ever!! (I may be wrong :p )

But Johnson's height and mobility will be good in defence against a fairly tall Bombers forward line. Especially if Laycock pushes forward while Hille or Someone else rucks.

I agree we should keep him for another couple of years, though he's want to learn how to take an overhead mark pretty quickly...
