Ok guys and girls, what is the consensus on him? 24 touches today but as a guy who has played almost 300 games, he gave away a really poor 50 metre penalty and it was something I felt changed the momentum of the game. What was disappointing from him was the inability to hold it together at a critical moment and show maturity.

I don’t feel that Jordan is a great leader. Last year he missed 3 games for decking Cripps. Within the Hawthorn outfit he was surrounded by AFL champions. When we’ve needed him to show leadership and be a good role model, he really has failed.

I also feel his Footy has dropped away a bit now, and with the absence of Viney he is probably being kept around due to needing a senior head. Personally I’d like to see Goodwin make a call on him and bring in Tyson or Brayshaw.

I think there are some mitigating factors against Jordan right now and I am not sure he is best 22 anymore.

Brayshaw would do better than him right now IMO.

The fifty he gave away was poor and this isn't the first time he has lacked discipline in that regard.

I actually thought he was good in the second half. He knows where to position himself, and his contests across half back in the second half were a big reason we were able to shut Geelong down. Seriously, watch the replay and see how many of Geelong's attacks were shut down with Lewis in very close vicinity.

Feels like he is playing for a paycheque tbh. Has done some incredibly undisciplined shit since he joined us, I'd feel better if we just pay him out at the end of the year.

Seriously, I've been pushing us to retire Vince this year but after today it might be Lewis instead of Bernie.
I don’t think he is vested enough.

He goes from doing something fantastic to something where you do question his dedication, it's frustrating as hell. I think overall though he is doing more good than bad, but for a guy with that many games under his belt, I do expect a bit more good

A lot of handballs under pressure which had little impact. Gave us nothing, same with Vince.

The fifty was daft and probably cost us a goal, but it was his mediocre disposal that concerns me. He's not quick, he's not a good defender and he's unlikely to go forward and bag a few goals... if he can't pull his weight and use the ball well or help us get over the line in these close contests, he's taking up space. I thought Vince went missing in the first half but was good in the second, while Lewis was more prominent but poor to average all game. I'd be dropping Lewis before Vince on today's form.

Spraying the ump to give away 50 is the last thing he should be doing but he still has a role in the side for now.
Inexcusable from a senior player. He's slowing down at ironically an express rate. He's not showing leadership by examole on the field with his actions. He's not impacting games the way we need him to. The three year contract is very much looking a year too long. Even his notoriously good disposal has been iffy at best since coming over. Was hoping for a lot more from him tbh..

Bloke plays with passion.

Had a good game and the umps wete looking to give away 50m penalties.

Move on

No he doesn’t. He is undisciplined and passion alone isn’t cutting it. His disposal is B grade now and he just isn’t contributing. No wonder Clarkson shifted him.

That 50 was the numptiest thing I've seen at the Southern Stand end since Jamar tried to play on from the square and kicked a point.
Was that against Port Adelaide in a round one match, or am I starting to blend all my horror recollections together?

He probably did it more than once, but this was against Essendon the day we wore silver like dickheads and Matthew Lloyd kicked eight.

Robertson the only other player I can remember botching the quick play on attempt from 1m out.

Yes - I remember now. I will have to re-read the Great Deepression, but I think the round one against Port Adelaide had some kind of circus performance from someone doing a routine switch in the backline that went cleanly though the point posts. Oddly Dunn springs to mind, but I can’t work out what he would have been doing back there in those days since he was generally forward or suspended.

I think the reason I have compounded all bad memories to that Port game was because that was the one where I finally cracked it and stormed out to leave the MCG, the MFC and AFL in general behind me. I think a few weeks later Stynes died, so I returned feeling like a creep.

I wish I could confidently remember who it was that tried to kick in to themselves, fell flat on their face and let the opposition player walk into an open goal. Think it was Simon Buckley but don't want him to key my car if wrong.
