What the hell was the club thinking when they traded pick 17 for this sponge?
This guy is the sort of player that is dangerous for others to play around. His panick, hospital handballs to team mates that are 1 second away from having an apponent bury them usually result in turn overs and goals kicked against us.
I hated this guy as a Footscray player and hate him even more as a Tiger!

I love the Tigers and have lived with us having players in our team like Greg "Turnover" Tivendale and Cam "Headless Chook" Howat but this guy i cant cop.

I will never applaud anything this guy does with the exception of running off the field to the bench or getting injured!

And before anyone uses the old "Eating their own" line, he isnt one of ours! He was a Footscray player that wasnt good enough to get a game for them in 2007 when they were an ordinary side!

I've vented my frustration and now feel much better ...

Re: Jordan the SH!T Truck McMahon

pick 17 was way too high, should be pick 30 or higher, i mean sam power was pick 48 and he is about the same.

Re: Jordan the SH!T Truck McMahon

kicked a nice goal yesterday.

Yeah, big deal .... Anyone could have kicked goals yesterday against a team that ticked off its obligation to the competition by presenting 22 listed players in Melbourne uniforms!
I've seen more competitive kick to kick sessions than yesterdays game.

Re: Jordan the SH!T Truck McMahon

It was Pick 19.

Would you feel different if we picked up Morton for Pick #19 and McMahon for Pick #35?

Re: Jordan the SH!T Truck McMahon

Terry Wallace and Nathan Brown aren't yours either then? Can we have Browny back then? Ya can keep Tezza though.

This has nothing to do with him coming from Footscray. Its all to do with him being an over rated kno8head footballer!

Perhaps it would have been an easier pill to swallow had he been traded for pick 35 and Morton for pick 17 or 19 or wich ever it was. Either way we would still have this sponge in our side and thats what i'm not happy about!

Why would you want him back?,at 30 years old and maybe 2 years left plus a bunged up leg he couldn't be that much use for you.

Re: Jordan the SH!T Truck McMahon

Terry Wallace was probably thinking to himself "Gee-whiz what a bargain" but Mcmahon is and will be the the new whipping boy. He is unaccountable and cant compete in a contest.

Yes i know he was recruited as a rebounding defender but he constantly turns the ball over and we pay the ultimate price(alot of the time anyway). With the amount of uncontested possessions he gets he should be alot more effective than he is.

when he gets the ball in a congested situation he makes the wrong decisions time and time again (ie like on the weekend handpassing to deledio who was tackled straight away)

He is a good kick but only shows his skill when he has a 20m+ radius between him and the nearest opponent.

was robbed by footscray, should have bargained harder instead of caving in and giving the dogs such a high pick, they got tim callan for pick 62.

I don't just have an issue on the high draft pick but what about the price tag he put on himself,300k a year or something like that?

Re: Jordan the SH!T Truck McMahon

Draft pick, salary ... all secondary issues to the fact that we went after him in the first place.

Bring back Adam Houlihan or Shane Morrison because they were both about as valuable.

:o :thumbsd:

It was pick 19. I think jordy has been ok for his first year with us. Clubs need dashing HBF's so Im happy with it.

McMahon's Season stats...

Kicks 313 Tackles 36
Handballs 191 Goals 6
Disposal 504 Behinds 7
Disposal Efficiency 80% Score Assists 12
Contested Possessions 79 Time on ground 88% (22 Matches)
Uncontested Possessions 422

---------------------

His disposal efficiency is at 80%... They say that the reason he was brought over to Richmond was for his hard running and excellent kicking skills. I would like to see him at around 90% efficiency at least next season if he is ever to redeem himself.

He doesn't turn the ball over THAT much but he turns it over when it counts the most and it's just unacceptable as a professional footballer. I have him as the most unreliable player in the side (disposal wise) when under pressure so let's see how he goes next year. For ALL of our sake, I hope he improves.

That figure right there proves he doesn't like the hard stuff.

Sorry for the double post but compare his stats to Deledio...

Kicks 255 Tackles 48
Handballs 283 Goals 28
Disposal 538 Behinds 10
Disposal Efficiency 74% Score Assists 32
Contested Possessions 157 Time on ground 90% (22 Matches)
Uncontested Possessions 378

-----------

His disposal efficiency is at 74% but as a midfielder that's deemed acceptable and it's pretty good considering how many contested possessions he has. You don't notice Deledio turning over the ball as much as McMahon because when McMahon has it 95% of the time he is about 20 meters clear and under no pressure yet he still butchers the kick. Terry's in love with him though and I can't see him getting dropped for a single game next year if he didn't get dropped for his 10 disposals, 4 goals kicked against him in that game against Fremantle.

Not one to usually bag The Tigers, their players or recruiting record but watching Sanchez over the past few weeks has got me pissed off!

I just can't see he provides a heap more value off the half back line to warrant $300k per year over 3 years.

Too rich by miles for mine and if as I suspect there will be more pressure on to make the team next year, McMahon could end up being a very highly paid dew-kicker.

McMahon is probably safe next season with Wallace in charge, but he is going to have 2-4 players breathing down his neck - Meyer, Raines and perhaps even Rance and JON. Casserly even a chance if he is still on the list and fit.

Tambling even looks better value running off half-back.

Would love to see Meyer and Raines definitely overtake him as 1st 22 selections. He is a weak link and if we are to win a premiership he is probably not good enough to be in that side.

I couldnt believe it when he kicked sideways from the centre of the ground, over Mcguane's head and nearly out of bounds. Its shit like that we dont need in our backline.

Having said that I must say Mcguane has improved his kicking a lot this year.:thumbsu:
