What do you guys think of this trade??

If Russell has to go to Port, lets try and get a second and a third round pick. That would be 25 and 41 (I think, but might well be wrong). We need depth that desperately, we need the 2 for 1 trade - at least it gives us 2 chances to get a decent player - without Port giving up their valuable top 10 pick

Isn't it strange that Port and Adelaide are so keen to get this kid? I haven't seen anything yet to suggest that he can play but obviously they must know something that we don't.

If he is homesick then that is another story (try and get Salopek somehow) but I think we should keep him for another year and actually give him some game time not just 5-10mins here and there when his selected in the seniors and see what he has to offer.

If the kid wants to go home fair enough, I think a 2nd round pick is fair for both teams.

straight swap for cassisi !

if we could somehow land both gibbs and leanburger id be wrapped :)

i think thats what we need to do there the two we really want , maybe if we can get away with trading thornton for hawthorns first round pick 6 and then in turn we could give essendon pick 6 and 17 for pick 2

u never know

Correct.

He's worth Salopek and your second round pick.
Are you guys at Carlton for real? You got Stevens from Power for nought. And now you want to screw them by taking one of their stars and a draft pick for a kid who hasn't made it yet? I'd say a third round pick for Russell would help some of the bitterness go away.

Effes' the only one on here using common sense.

Sporn, Longmuir and Deluca would be very lucky to get you Thurstans.

Being serious, I don't really want Russell but it looks likely. So, I think Russell's trade value would be something like...

Straight swap for Thurstans.
Russell and a 3rd rounder for Dew.
Russell for a 3rd rounder.

He hasn't done alot at AFL level. I'm not saying he wont be a good player but he is obviously isn't worth a hell of alot ATM.

Port Adelaide would rather take a shot in the eye than take that trade

What bitterness?

He's done more than Meesen so maybe we should offer you a fourth round pick for him.

PS. You're not too smart are you?

True but he was a top 10 pick 2 years ago. He's done more than anyone in the draft.

Er, done more than Brett Deledio; Jarryd Roughhead; Ryan Griffen; Lance Franklin; Jordan Lewis; Matthew Bate; Angus Monfries; Dean Polo; Sean Rusling; Matthew Rosa; Cain Ackland; and Justin Sherman?

I'd be impressed if it had any basis in fact.

What do you mean anyone in the draft?
I think BlueWorld was referring to this year's draft.

Clubs will at least know what they're getting with Russell and what he needs to work on. He's still a good prospect with talent who can kick the ball well with both feet, good character and super quick with a good frame to build on. It took three years and a new coach with a different game plan for another top 10 pick in Jordan McMahon to have the seasons he has had under Eade.

The ridiculous pressure we place on kids to come in and star against men after two years should be called Judd syndrome. :thumbsd:

God help us if we draft Gibbs and he takes his time to step with the vultures across the border already circling with their eyes on him.

I trust Pagan.

Don't get me wrong - I'm quite prepared to give the kid another year or two to find his game. He's got most of the attributes, but I worry about his composure when under pressure.

And anyway you look at it, he's bringing up the rear of the 2004 draft.

Why I want to keep him. :thumbsu:
