Entering his free agent year

Fell out of the best side last year with crows favouring Keane, worrell, Michaelanny/murray

Does the Victorian comeback home next year?
I'd be surprised if a number of Victorian clubs are not in his ear. I wouldn't be surprised if my club wasn't one of them; he is a F/S for us.
On the other hand, he seems comfortable in Adelaide. He might not be as willing to leave as others may think. I think we're going to have to see if he can get a permanent game or not before the question becomes significant.

Crows defence looked better balanced when Butts played last season... however, Murray was not at his best returning from injury.

If Butts does not play most games, I would not blame him for seeking opportunities elsewhere as should be playing AFL not SANFL.

Think North will aim a little higher than Butts if they are going to bring in a free agent.
Would be very handy for the likes of North or Bulldogs.

Clubs are not limited to taking 1 free agent.

Agreed but he's no star.
Never claimed he was... but he is a very dependable defender whose opponent rarely gets off the chain.

There are plenty of teams lacking a decent lockdown tall defender.

Why wasn't he playing in the 2025 finals?
The selectors preferred Murray, which imo was the incorrect call. It was heavily debated on our board.

Keane & Worrell were givens.

Keane was horrific in both finals from memory.

Worrell is a freak. Was Adelaides best finals player.
Sadly most of the Adelaide players & coaching was horrific in the finals.

Was painful to sit through live.

Another key defender that the Dogs should have gone hard for.

Though I could forgive them for being a bit shy after their experience with the last key defender they picked up from the Crows

wouldn't surprise since we went hard at him in the trade period just gone
North should be all over him as he is a very good 1 v 1 tall defender who can mark the opposition key forwards. Many of us wanted him in the side over keane or murray. I hope we can convince him to stay but if he goes, i hope its north as he would really help you guys out

But if he went to the Bulldogs he'd have to deal with vicious assaults from that vile thug Darcy at training every week?

Keath was god damn good for a 2-3 year window there, although he did hit the cliff pretty quickly.
