limited time on the park but shows good signs under pressure mr russell you are very very lucky for the amount of senior games your skills are below par . nervous under pressure as 10 set shots at goal for 9 behinds would highlight .joey to me has more upside to jordan given the same amount of chances hope iam wrong though and both play many games together.:(

and maybe if anderson had been GIFTED 40 games like Russel, that would be different.

That is very rough.

Although he may not be the most skillful player. JR still has a lot to offer.
Anderson looks good, but JR is coming along. He'll be here next year.

At first I thought Jorey was an A-Rod type nickname for Joel Corey (and wondered how his being stiff or otherwise was of any interest to the Carlton faithful :D)

But after wading through that wasteland of words I realised it was meant to say Joey

joey anderson wont make it at afl level..... i am not bagging him but he is not afl standard hope i end up eating my words but cant see him cementing a spot in our best 22.

Russel on the other hand has show some promise , though hes goal kicking aint up to scratch , im sure a goal kicking practice could assist him here, other than that he seems to go at the ball whenever its around, chase, makes leads, tackles, shepards etc....

I dont think russel has been gifted 40 games nor 20 . Though he has not exactly earned them, as we have seen, this kid needs some faith been put in him for him to gain confidence, so dropping him wont do all the wonders will it??

Im with you mate, thought it was gonna be a rumor about Joel Corey as well. You hit the nail on the head Yossi ;)

Well don't ask how, but when I saw the title I thought it was something to do with Jordon Russell..

I mean it is in a way, but the actual title is referring to Joey...not Jordon.

:o

Nerd;)

lol i came in this thread think Jorey Stiff must be an unfortunately named kid to look out for in the TAC cup
I'm with you. I was thinking it might be some promising KP draft pick-up.

All I could see were headlines from the media....

After a bed game....Stiff goes soft.
After a head high tackle...Stiff goes in hard.

Need I go on. LOL.

What has Joel Corey done to be stiff? LOL

I didnt think Joey did much at all Friday night. Mind you neither did Russell. But i still like Russell's attack on the ball and leads up well. Disposal wasnt up to scratch Friday night but is on the improve and obviously Ratts rates him.

So in one breath you talk about writing a player off after 8 games (in his second year) and then spout rubbish about needing faith in a 4th year player after 40 games?

Anderson at least has some wins under his belt - he took Eagleton out of the game last year in only his 5th match. He has the size, pace and hardness that Russell can only dream of matching.

Give Anderson time. Dont write off players in their second year. I know who I'd prefer in the back pocket.

I wouldnt say miles. Russell has had charity games his whole career.

Alright I'll humour you.

If not miles, how far ?

And there's no such thing as charity games. JR has had a few genuine blinders, the brilliant liberace-style win against port this year being one. Anderson hasn't done anything like that yet, and although i'm not saying that he won't, that fact puts him well behind JR for now.
