Could Geelong use Josh Hunt better then we are ?
While he has a great kick, he seems to be too slow in the back pocket could he be better served off the half back line or even half forward line your thoughts ?

Good player. I think if he was turned into a midfeild/wing player clubs would be forced to tag him because his kick is so damaging.

Clubs would do the opposite and play a good attacking player on him who would run off and create at will.

He struggles on leading forwards, has a great kick and not a bad overhead mark but I'm not sure he's creative enough...still I could see his kick sailing over floods in our forward line or pinpointing a leading forward similar to one of the lonie bros.

His kicking has been better in play than kicking out. Players could run off him, however, if he gets a bit of the ball and creates, they may need to be more accountable.

However, I'm not a fan and I wouldn't like to rely on him in a tight finish.

One thing which makes me cringe, is when Josh Hunt kicks short from full back. I remember him turning it over quite often like this. He should be given the ball and told to roost it as far and as wide as possible.

No way is Josh slow. He should be used as a half back flanker with occasional stints as as attacking winger.

Yes we could use him better, but I don't think people appreciate his worth on the last line.

Hunt is used in small defender roles because he shuts down small forwards. He gets pigeon holed by many because of his kicking ability but he has become a very good defender.

I'm not sure where the "too slow" tag comes from either. He may not have the engine of a full time midfielder but he certainly isn't slow.

I definately dont think he is quick what I do think he has is power through the legs which allows him to take off quickly and beat or keep up with quick players over the 1st few steps coupled with a strong body to break the initial tackle. I think that is perfect for the back pocket or half back not sure he would be effective on the wing for any length of time. Nothing saying he cant run from half back to deliver to the forwards (gilbee, mcleod, gram etc etc all manage to do a job from half back).

I have lost count on how many times small forwards have cut him up because of leg speed.

Ive been through this before but brain capacity for some of you must be lacking...

Its amazing how many people cannot think outside the square...

Yeah move Hunt up the ground... Who plays on the small forwards?? You can throw names around but they've all been tried and Hunt is proven to be the superior backman.

Would you believe that Scarlett and most of the team made more errors last year than Hunt? Because its true.

Yes, errors are more costly in the backline which is why you notice them more.

I am not a fan of moving hunt up the ground but if he was to move then he would have to be covered by ...

D.Johnson
Djerrkura
Callan
Rooke
Stokes (played defense in sanfl - I would prefer him up the ground to hunt though)

Wojcinski/enright/corey etc have all played 1/2 back as well.

Couldn't agree with you more JUBJUB.
Looks like Tarzan plays like Jane.
IMO is more of a liability than asset to the team.

Ditto!
Those stubby little legs mean he'll never become anything of a running/endurance player.
And too lazy to count on when it matters. Proven time and again that he goes missing, and it's usually at crucial times.:thumbsd:

Melts under pressure in the backline too much - lord knows how many mistakes/turnovers he has been responsible for.

Push him up the ground.

We've already provided facts to prove how little knowledge you have.
