Wouldnt hurt to give him credit.

He's probably been our best player over the past 6 weeks.
Agreed, playing very consistently good footy at the moment.

Must admit that I get a bit tired of the commentators, every time he takes a contested mark, saying he has previously been doubted for his courage. Come up with some new shit or **** off.

One incident that I can remember in an almost 10-year career.

Quote - 'I dont think Harley ever compromised Hunt's spot. Apart from a patch in '07 when Thompson didnt like a couple of specifics he has been in the best 22 for 6 years'.

I meant we lost a good backman (Harley retired) and got back a good backman (Hunt returning after missing a GF) in the team. Not the same position but nonetheless a good back 6 player for us.

It warms my heart to see a thread-o'-love for Josh Hunt. :thumbsu:
Aside from a couple of down matches (which pretty much every player has had or will have this year), he has been a welcome return. Love the way he plays, and he's been great at shutting down dangerous forwards. Also seems to be enjoying his footy.

Agree with cancat too - instead of praising him for putting his body on the line (as he did Saturday night), the commentators compare it to one occasion when he didn't. It's up there with the continual "Selwood is the best at ducking for frees" despite getting very few head-high frees compared to other years. Just shows how little they know.

AT 185cm and 100kg, Geelong's Josh Hunt might have been a key position player in a previous generation. Probably a key forward, given his long and accurate kicking.
Gary Ablett Sr, the greatest goalkicker in Geelong's history, played at 185cm and 95kg at his peak; Hawthorn champion Jason Dunstall was 188cm and 98kg in his prime.

Hunt, though, is Geelong's Minister for Small Business, the man responsible for the most dangerous ground-level forward in the opposition.

Great to see Josh get the recognition in the press that he deserves!

I think everyone in Geelong would already know that he's had his best season ever. I think he's consistently been one of the top-10 players all year, and his contribution to our success this year can't be underestimated.

Unlucky not to be named in the AA squad. I think this year he's been our best defender and that includes Taylor and Enright.

So much muscle that he gets out marked by 'Tip Rat' Milne and has been the driving force behind a possible upset win.

I know your rubbing salt in the wound, and dont worry you'll get your turn.

But youre right. Torn up by the rapist, mind you thats what he does, on and off-field. Yep, went there. :p

Don't know what games you've been watching. Tonight showed he is often a liability. His kicking looks good but is often over rated. Should count himself lucky if he retains his place for next week.

You get judged on how you play in finals not on the centre spread of The Sun.
Shocking game today against Milne.
Outmarked and outbussled by someone half his size

I see that Wojinscki seems to always start on the pine, and Hunt on the ground. If I were a Geelong fan, I'd have Wojak ahead of Hunt every single time no matter the role he's playing - tagging, creating, or even rucking.

Yet another showcase of being built like Tarzan & playing like Jane. His 3rd qtr on Milne was right up there with his final qtr on Nick Davis in 05. Stuffed up a kick in, so packed up shop and didn't push to the square to take responsibility and take the kicks. Bomber sprayed him big time over it.

Also, watches the ball way too much, gets caught out continually and is carried by his mates. Put him at WC or Bris and he'd be a deadset plodder.

Totally agree Bobby, a massive liability. His decisions are generally poor and he doesn't use his size to advantage at all.

Not a turn in the case of me that's for me. He is not a defenders @$$hole Josh. Has cost us big time in finals now against the Swans in 05, Hawks in 08 and now the Saints last night. ####en disgusting and I would prefer Hunt of the Taylor variety in our defence. Hard and tough as nails and no way he would be out bodied by someone as slight as freakin Milne and won't go in to his shell attack wise either.

Wow. I don't dare go over to the Selwood or Taylor threads and read want will be written given what's in this thread.

Poor game against a dangerous opponent that is very streaky. Unfortunately it happened in a final. he was one of our best against Collingwood.

this is easily the worst turn of opinion ive seen on big footy.

Don't be under any misapprehension.. This thread has always been a 'roast' in disguise and after Josh plays his 1st bad game for the year its like vultures on road kill..

Josh had a terrible game but most of the crap posted on here in the last 18 hours is bloody halarious..

How about this for a theory.. Josh Hunt is a spy who's deliberately trying to make Geelong lose premierships!!

Ablett has shown that it doesnt matter you're size, you can outbody anyone if you nudge and bump at the right moment and in the right place. Milne has made a career of doing this.

Yes, Hunt had a shocker. But he wasnt the only one. Redemption starts next week.

Sorry, no room for rational thinking in this thread..
