Josh Hunt.

Even took a few overhead marks in the last couple of weeks, and is making less stupid mistakes. Not to mention cleaning up a couple of guys last week.

Built like Tarzan, but no longer playing like Jane?

Re: Improver

Concur. Josh was on fire last year, but after copping a suspension for that rough tackle at the end of the season he didn't regain that form until recently. I think those big hits last week has upped his confidence.

Re: Improver

You know Josh is playing well when he marks the ball confidently. It's his KPI. Big double handed fists don't impress me if a solid mark is on offer.

Re: Improver

Throw Mackie into that equation too. Both were outstanding with their skills and decision-making last night imo.
Hunt's kicking was sublime.

Re: Improver

Has been good for most of this year, but I expect after the next quiet game all and sundry will want to drop him again.

Mackie and Hawkins should guarantee that Josh Hunt does not suffer too much in this regard.

We did give up some easy goals last night due to poor kicking/decisions in defense. Joel Selwood was responsible for one howler that I can recall. But I can vaguely remember a couple of instances where we gave easy goals through poor decisions. Josh Hunt was not involved in any of them.

I think Josh is one player that CS can identify with and appreciate. If CS can get Josh to play like he did then we will be in for very interesting times ahead.

Re: Improver

Good news then for Josh. Has his detractors but if he can get enough of the ball and use his left foot to attacking advantage - then he becomes a pretty useful player for us.

If I was to pick a player that best fitted the category - improved, even though we knew he was good - he never had the real chance to fully demonstrate his skills and hardness - Kelly has to be the greatest improver.

Now he has been able to be fully utilised and played in the middle - where he would have been had he had been at another club - year's ago - he has become a serious A grader.

Re: Improver

Taking a leaf out of Chris Scotts' book on how to play as a medium sized power defender.
A guy who can bump fair, yet you in hospital.
