Still too overly-dependent upon Roo & Joey getting you guys up, in half your winning games this year.....I've a feeling it's going to get ugly for you in 2018.

Roo and Joey this year?

Have not been key players at all this year, but have been rather useful players. Roo injured his knee early this season and has struggled to get separation on opponents since. He has still played ok in most games but in some has been not so good. Opposition players have been burnt in games by him more by guile this year than his traditional running play. His legs have finally given out on him.

Young list with more and more players starting to hit 50 games.
- Ross now at 80 games has had an excellent season, a huge step up in form
- Longer Billings Dunstan Webster have all played less than 70 games and all have come on this year.
- Membrey hits his 50th game next week next week. Goes ok as a third tall
- Sinclair Acres Gresham Steele will reach 50 in about the middle part of 2018. Again all in this group have improved. Sinclair has had a very good brace of recent games.

So that is about half the team that will have progressed up into the 50-100 game area for next season.

Roo is off, but Paddy, Marshall and Battle will all be queuing up to play games as a tall forwards in 2018.

Like Oliver, we want more please.. and especially a bit more midfield class. But the rebuild is progressing nicely and in essence 2017 is just the year when virtually all of the remaining old guard of Roo, Joey and Demspter fade away. Gilbert who is only 31 will be our oldest player. Everyone else will be under 30.

I remember 11 Hawk flags. How many do you remember?

Do you still sit back and watch those beauties from the 1800s? Careful, you are sounding like a Cats supporter.

Probably got his info from Hardie

Think lower, not really that breaking to think that a team in desperate need of a quality midfielder might have interest in one, more so when we have a bit of cash to spend.

I'd love it but would be hard to convince him to move to WA, although he does have a connection with Perth.

He isn't coming to us but attaching our name to him sells papers.
Hopefully there is a huge bidding war that atleast forces GWS to pay him top dollars which may squeeze guys like Hopper out

That story was actually true though and not click bait :oops:
It was also true that Essendon was into O'Meara and he chose to not play for us, just like Carlisle gave the cold shoulder to old mate Clarkson.

What short, selective memories you Hawthorne fans have.

Essendon don't have the ability to match the offers North Melbourne, Carlton and Saint Kilda are making.
Essendon is also a team that is mid ladder 8th-10th (Most likely 8th if R23 results go as expected).
So he can stay at GWS and win finals and potentially flags or go to the other Victorian clubs mentioned and earn more money.
Yeh they do. Long term deal means anyone can match. It's just a question of risk appetite
