The big question i am curious on is if u want to become a news reader when ur older, do u need to do journalism?
I have noticed through all news programs the newsreader are all journalists, why is this?

Unless you are a model or football star, it is advisable that you get a journalism degree.
Before reading the news you will start as a journo doing the street beat.
However, recognise that very few positions come up in the industry for journos and even fewer for newsreaders.
It can happen though, several of my friends are now on tv.
Be prepared to consider moving to the country or interstate to further your career at the end of your course - if you make it. positions at uni are very competitive.
For now consider doing some work experience with street press or free community newspapers. They will give you an opportunity to write and get your name known, as well as gaining experience and contacts.
Also try community radio stations. they are always dying for people to help them out.
