Of course hes a good chance to win it, he's won it before and would have won it again last year, had he not got injured.

Judd has been made early favorite for 2008 Brownlow Medal I think he might have a good chance to win it, and the umpires seem to notice him a lot here is a link to the article http://heraldsun.news.com.au/footy/common/story_page/0,8033,22940381%5E19762,00.html what do you guys think? Discuss!!
Lets get some good wins on the board for a great year and then top it off with the Juddstar winning the Brownlow medal.
This is stuff dreams are made of.
Cant wait,bring it on!!! :thumbsu:

I would agree. Would have had his second last year had it not been for injury and he should be hitting career best form in the next 4 - 5 years

The hairs on the back of my neck stood up.

And top it all of with Twigs wearing a little Carlton emblem on her dress with Juddy's 08 brownlow around her :)

With all the talk of our killer off season trades and recruitment I seem to have overlooked the most impressive recruit of all!

Twigs is possibly the only person at Carlton with more 'talent' than Juddy.

Indeed the recruiting department has done a stellar job. Our membership slogan for 08 should've been

IN: Twiggers
OUT: Rhiannan Whitnall

I wonder what the lowest number of team wins is for a player to win the brownlow.

Usually comes from a side in the top 4 let alone GF.

Without looking this would probably be upwards of 15 wins.

Big ask.

Hate to rain on the parade here but it's silly to have him as favourite for next year. Even if we made the finals I doubt we will win enough games to get enough "3 votes".

I would have thought Ablett and Bartel would be up there again.

True Bluebear, but few others players can rack up the votes like Juddy can. And dont forget Nathan Buckley at the Filth and Robert Harvey at the Saints, sure they won their Brownlows while their sides were successful, but they still were able to poll plenty of votes even when their teams were shit.

PS. Does anyone else look at Chris Judd's profile on the CFC website just to remind yourself he plays for us? I know I do- still seems like a dream I'm about to wake from :)

Sure, but I wish they take an actual photo rather than put his head on Scotty's body

I think when Brad Hardie won it for Footscray/Western Bulldogs, they were a side that was outside of the 8 or 6 whatever it was back in those days....
cant remember that far back..... i'm going senile.... :D

bottom line is weren't the bullies a crap side back then?????? lol

I have often wondered how many wins are 'enough' to put a player in Brownlow contention.

In the past 20 years:

2007 Jimmy Bartel Geelong 18 wins
2006 Adam Goodes Sydney 14 wins
2005 Ben Cousins West Coast 17 wins
2004 Chris Judd West Coast 13 wins
2003 Mark Riccuto Adelaide 13 wins
Nathan Buckley Collingwood 15 wins
Adam Goodes Sydney 14 wins
2002 Simon Black Brisbane 17 wins
2001 Jason Akermanis Brisbane 17 wins
2000 Shane Woewodin Melbourne 14 wins
1999 Shane Crawford Hawthorn 10 wins
1998 Robert Harvey St Kilda 13 wins
1997 Robert Harvey St Kilda 15 wins
1996 Michael Voss Brisbane 15 wins
James Hird Essendon 14 wins
1995 Paul Kelly Sydney 8 wins
1994 Greg Williams Carlton 15 wins
1993 Gavin Wanganeen Essendon 13 wins
1992 Scott Wynd Footscray 16 wins
1991 Jim Stynes Melbourne 13 wins
1990 Tony Liberatore Footscray 12 wins
1989 Paul Couch Geelong 16 wins
1988 Gerard Healy Sydney 12 wins

So there are some champions who have still managed to get noticed in teams that were not winning so many games, and we know that the umpires just LURV Juddy.

I would have thought we'd win 8-12 games in 2008 and the above highlights that that just might be enough.

I'd say if we win more than 12 games Judd will definitely have his 2nd Charlie.

Nice job BY.

Lets hope his hip holds up. If we can get around 12 wins we may just make the finals and who knows.......maybe Juddy can do it.

I would be happy with 10 - 12 wins that might see us just scrape into the 8 with 12 wins or just miss on the 8 with 10 wins. I think Nick Stevens is a dark horse for the Brownlow considering he wont be getting the best tagger every week? And Murphy to have a stellar season, along with Walker and a few others we have some top notch options all of a sudden. I think we will be a tough proposition for most teams to come up with a solution for our midfield.

My thoughts exactly BlueYoss, if we can win enough games then he's definitely in with a chance.

I certainly rate our midfield but he won't have Cousins and Kerr (plus the rest) to take votes from him which was always the problem with the Eagles.

Plus, if we can at least get a few close games he probably only needs 20 touches to still get a vote.
