We've had a few toast threads recently, but I think this one is probably more deserved than the lot of them. I'm not alone in thinking that this would definitely be Jude's final year with us but, lo and behold, he's negotiating another contract! And fair enough too, he's playing very well and deserves it.

He started the year brilliantly in 2011 and trailled off a little after injury hit but he has been wonderful this year. Can go forward and kick multiple goals and of course he is a bull in the middle. Would have to be in the discussion as best wet weather footballer in the AFL too.

He's been a personal favourite of mine for a long time now. He'd be in my top 3 for favourite players at the club and I cannot wait for his 300th (scheduled at this stage to be against Hawthorn at the SCG in round 22). He is absolutely deserving of being held in rarified air at our club.

What a champ.

From what appeared to be a 'Pretty Boy' image when he first started with the Swans, he has grown to be one of our most consistent, brave and fierce players at the club. Just watch that video of him in the huddle during the Kanga's game)

He has really become a champion of our club and very proud to have him with us.

I'm looking forward to the future here, but it worries me with our supporters that as soon as an older player plays one or two ordinary games, they (the supporters) start posting that "He should retire". For some reason it is ok for a younger player to have an ordinary game or two, but as soon as it's an older player they blame it on age. I have no doubt Jude will know when it is time to retire, but for me I hope he can continue for another 2 years at least.

As a side issue, it is amazing that our club has a history going back 139 years, yes it is only recent years that we have had a 300 gamer! First Micky O, then Adam Goodes and soon, hopefully Bolton.

Despite being overlooked on the published "best" lists on the weekend (because he didn't rack up 30+ disposals), I had him on my best. I thought his goals were important and I appreciated his unnecessary bounce running into the open goal, it made a statement.

I think his career has been extended by the addition of other inside mids so he doesn't have to get the stuffing knocked out of him every weekend.

Based on his form at the end of last year I honestly thought he'd made a mistake in choosing to go on another year and would struggle to be in the best 22.

One of those occasions when you're very happy to be proven wrong.

It'll be good to see the Oreo finally completed.

He's been bloody brilliant. It's fantastic having him, ROK and Goodes all capable of starting in the forwardline but then running through the middle if we need a lift, if one of our other mids are having a bad game, etc. You can throw Craig Bird, Ben McGlynn and Luke Parker (when in the team) into that category as well. Because our forwardline, barring Reid and LRT, consists essentially of resting midfielders, we can field a midfield that runs incredibly deep, and is therefore almost impossible to get on top of. Jude is a big part of that.

Also I bought my tickets like a week ago for the Hawthorn game cause I knew it would be a sell-out! Recommend others do the same if they know for sure they're going.

A player (& usually coach) knows when they should give it away. Jude is good for a couple more at least. No sign of slowing down. He just keeps improving. If he outlasts Goodes he may take the games record. He's only a half season behind him
