Junk Time

can anyone tell me why we are so bad in so called junk time,the last 3 to 4 minutes of each quarter ?against the roos we let them back in at the end of the first quarter. the worse seems to be when we play the lions , i reckon they score 2 goals late in every quarter against us,thats 8 goals for the game and i think every coach except mm knows about our weakness.its not something that has just started happening either, we have been giving up late goals for 4 years at least.any ideas ?

so you think what ive got to say about junk time is rubbish? just think back to the last 3 mins of the first quarter against the kangaroos, we gave up 3 goals , IN JUNK TIME.

At the end of the game against the Roos we had the last three shots at goal. According to your theory it should have been North that did that. Its easy to take things out of context.

I don't believe that there is "junk time", it's 20 minutes a quarter plus time on, every minute is vital. Maybe just need to keep the pressure up right till the siren sounds IMO.

it may have lots to do with our lack of subsitutions, Malthouse is ranked 16th in the league

I always thought junk time refreed only to time in the last quarter once a result was obvicously going to go one way.Therefore say 9 mins to go in last quarter team is 47 points down then kicks a couple of late goals in junk time.The last say five minutes of prevoius quarters is knowen as red time or time on.When it is vital not to give up easy goals.

I agree that's what I understood junk time to be.

The end time of a quarter is called 'RED' time or at least that what i've always known it as.
