If you were going to be critical it was pretty ordinary, as previous post said Nathan Lovett Murray his opponent was one of essendons best (31 possesions and 2 goals).

And I agree he is a bit soft, a few times he needed to just make a contest and bring the ball to ground but wasn't willing. Hopefully he will learn.

He has a lot of talent and huge upside, but still some way to go.

Supporters won't like reading this but he's as soft as butter. He'll be better for the run and is a confidence player, but he's always been too fearful of body contact.

I disagree that he's soft, but he'll never be an overly physical player in the Jono Brown mould.

Yesterday he looked tentative at times, but that's probably fair enough after a shoulder reco - his first ever serious injury.

His attack on the ball will improve with game time, but it's probably fair to say he'll never be a bash and crash type player.

Still a gem though!

What? Were we watching different games? I saw one Michael Hurley "playing" on Jurrah.

Their backline was changing match-ups every 5 minutes... unfortunately Jurrah was generally beaten by Hurley/NLM when the delivery wasn't good enough... to be expected I guess. But the times when it was to advantage... wow. His leap gives him an extra metre on most defenders.

I was at the game, saw NLM on him a few times, maybe they did swap, none the less, Hurley has 8 marks and 21 possessions anyway.

watched it last night and thought he was good, (upgraded to very good because of time out)

Lovett Murray was on Jurrah for a good portion of the game. Greeny got a big chunk of his goals on Hurley.

LJ will get better and be vital to our future fortunes. But to say he was good defensively is a big stretch.

What about the dash and tackle on.. I think it was Stanton?

Re: Jurrahs return.

He was pretty average today, but the great thing about Liam is that he still manages to contribute even when it isn't really his day.

The most pleasing aspect of his day, however, was that he managed to get through it without injury.

In sum, a decent day, and you just have to love the instinctual way in which he plays.

I agree with this. He managed to kick a couple of goals when I thought he looked like a player that hadn't played all year. Thus is a good thing
