A thread on the main board got me thinking - chasing Kosi would be a very smart move by the club for a number of reasons.

1. First and foremost, he's a capable of holding down a key position role up forward, whether it be a strong marking option in the goal square, or the CHF we've desperately been crying for.

2. Unlike Fisher, he will demand serious attention from the opposition, and could be the man to take the pressure of Fev. With his size and his contested marking ability, he also has a presence out on the field, and opposition defenders would be reluctant to peel off and stand in front of Fev.

3. He isn't in the best form, and apart from a few games here and there, is yet to take the competition by storm. As a result, we won't have to give up anywhere near as much as we would to get a Brown/Pavlich, and unlike those two, we'll be able to fit him into the salary cap without much of an issue (won't demand much more than the 350k that Ackland is supposedly on).

I'd be rapt if we were able to acquire him, and I reckon a change of scenery would do him the world of good. We've seen what he can do in glimpses, and if he can get back to his best, he'd be a brilliant acquisition. Thoughts?

Is he out of contract? Are you sure we wouldn't have to give up alot to get him?
It would be fantastic if he came to Carlton but it ain't likely to happen unfortunately.

You'd think we'd have to give up our first pick at least, plus probably a player on top (quality depending on how high that DP would be) - but given the role he'd play in the side, it'd be worth it IMO. Getting Pav or Brown (can't see either happening) would cost as much as Judd did.

Kosi has been St Kilda-ised and is an over-rated player who just hasn't lived up to the potential he showed as a kid.

It may have happened, but I can't think of a game that he's won off his own boot for the Saints.

He's not out of contract.

The Saints would never let him go.

He was out of contract last year. We approached him......made an offer and he knocked it back......The End
Exactly, he wants to stay at the Saints, and I think our money could go toward something better than chasing a bloke who's not interested in coming here.

From what I heard he didn't so much knock it back as accidentally collide with it.

:D:thumbsu:

Quite right, Kosi was not aware that we had even made him an offer, until after he knocked it off the table.

Kosi is a huge unco and his body is nearly as fragile as Hartlett's when he keeps getting injured.

No thanks.

Just keep picking the kids with our picks and try to grow our own key position players.

I'd rather draft a KPP who doesn't knock himself when he picks up the morning paper.

He'd cost us too much in cap space and draft picks when we gave away three players to get Judd.

I can't see him leaving his mates at the Saints and joining Carlton before we sign Goddard.

no thanks. we need to develop a CHF, not get a 25 year old one. we want them to be in the prime of their career when the rest of the boys are. we'd only be able to use Kosi or another bloke like him about 3 years.

Heard a big rumour today.

We offered Kosi about 500k p/y and Sydney offered him 600k+ p/w, he turned both offers down to stay at St. Kilda, we wont get him.

Good in theory, and I'd love for it to happen, but it wont.

I also heard a big rumour today.

Banno is going to play on Saturday

I think he is finished as a great footballer, had to many injuries and never got the best unfortunately.
