What are your thoughts on Kade Simpson. Should he be given more of a go and do you think he will have a long afl career

Got a bit of talent as he showed in the Wizard Cup but as you said he hasn't really been given a chance to show it at senior level.

Depth player. Good user of the ball but not really big enough to get the ball much. All our midfeilders have bodies that can win the hard ball, eg. Kouta, Stevens, Campo, Scotland, McGrath, Waite and Chambers. Walker is the only exception because of his pace but the rest are all into their 20's and have plenty of muscle. Basically what I'm saying is, Simpson would get 20 disposals at West Coast but doesn't yet have the strength to consistently play in Pagan's midfield.

Absolutley dominates in the VFL.

I guess the problem is he doesnt have the game to demand regular game time due to the fact his body shape is pretty much like alot of others players who at present do what he does ata better and more consistent standard.

As someone mentioned though good for depth, probably has to keep plugging.

Possibly liken him to Cassissi at Port who has a similar body and game but took quite a while to really break into the first 22 and hold his spot.

This might just be his last year. He'll be given a number of chances this year and if he plays like he did against Essendon and doesn't take those chances he'll struggle at the end of the year to remain on the list. I think the kid has talent but I seriously doubt he'll make it.

I hope I'm wrong though.

19 minutes isnt enough time to show what you can do

hasn't really been given much game time.
and hasn't done enough when he's been out there to make him a regular.

will probably get dropped this week for Chambers who is back from injury.

kade is one of if not my fave player down at the club

it will be a shame if we dont retain him on our list at the end of the year- he has pace and ability...just doesnt have the strength to complete in the top lkevel just yet

but then again i don think that playing him for little periods of time is going to help him...throw him in the middle against the worse teams- hawks tigers adelaide and doggies

we all saw his potential last yr vs the crows over there.

as said he absolutely blitzes the vfl...

I know that Kase can make it at AFL level, from the limited chances he's had he hasn't impressed me for Carlton which is in total contrast to when he played for the Rangers and Bullants.

Future player... will take time, and is probably seen as a Camporeale replacement down the line, One thing that confuses me is everyone saying he is too small, He dosn't have the muscle just yet, but to me he looks a decent size + he moves well.

I rate the kid. Good pace, good skills and seems pretty hard at it. It looks like Pagan quite likes him too. Give him another preseason in the gym and he'll get some more game time in 2006.

I'm not expecting much out of his next off-season. He really struggles at the gym. Either he's lazy training in the gym or he is has a serious diet issue. He's had three off-seasons and has barely put on a thing!

He is a terrribly hard worker. It's all to do with metabolism.

He looked alright in the Wiz cup. Might make a good HF flanker for the time being.

Pagan should turn him into a tagger... that seems to be a common way that young blokes can get into the best 22, ie (Kane Cornes, Bogroll Cassisi), then develop further strings to their bow.

I think he's good value. He just hasn't been given much of a chance, however I believe he has a place on a half forward flank, cos he has a dip, is able to keep the ball in the area and is a good kick for goal.

Basically at the moment we would rather play guys with suspect disposal but more body strength than give him a decent game time. As some have said, Pagan's game style demands it. When he puts on those extra few kgs and gets given a fair run I think he'll suprise a few people. Some players just need a long time to build their body up (Wiggins and sporn have taken forever and were drafted 2 years earlier), starting at 70 kg hasn't helped.

I think the fact that he is always at the head of the line to play in the seniors (even if he only gets 20mins) on the field, is a reward for how well he plays in the bullants, and the coach panel's way of recognising that he has the talent even if he's not quite ready yet.

But we don't need to make huge changes to our list at the end of this year, so I can't see him going anywhere. We only need to delist 4 or 5 at the end of the year and there are plenty ahead of Kade in that line. I think he is a long way from being on his last chance, but sometimes the supporters are less patient than the selection committee.
