Don't think there was ever any doubt of losing Simmo. Hopefully we can sign up some of our interstate boys - particularly Gibbs and Bower in the near future.

You would think this contract would see him out at Carlton, I just don't think that at his age and games played that Simpson would be at the Club past 2011, which means he'll have played 150 games (or there abouts) to the club, which is a fair effort, but I think that by 2012, we'll have more kids and young players that have come through the draft, willing to take his spot by then. Been an serviceable player for the club, and a final 2 years is probably deserved ...

i cant see simpson losing his spot within a couple of years
he is quite a vluable p-layer who can at worst play on the wing

He's 25. In two years time he'll be in his prime. A much better player than you give him credit for though does lack consistency at times.

Unless your Brett Ratten, Gregg Swann, Sticks or possibly Jeannie Pratt it's not like you can do much about them.

Simpson is the exact kind of player we will be needing in the next 2 years plus. He has to be one of the core of 27-30 year olds that will be our core to carry us to the next flag. We can't just keep on bringing kids through without the veterans or we'll not come within a bees dick of another flag.
