The Toolman said:Yeah...accept Rehny was past it and a risk. I know Kane had his injury trouble, but he is still in his prime. Our movement into the forward line hasn't been the same since. And don't go down that receiver path....he was a hard nut!
well I thought shaun was actually over his main injury problems, it was personality problems that were the catalyst.
To me Kane was more an injury risk - he had and will always have dodgy hamstrings that need very careful management. I was a great admirer of his playing ability and his value to our team. But Shaun was well and truely the heart and soul of the club and to lose him was to me a greater losson kane I agree that he was tough but in reality he is a receiver and I said all good teams need one. The problem I had with him going to richmond was would they use him correctly - I don't think they did, they tried to turn him into an in and under midfielder and all the answers to their problems. It remains to be seen if wallets actually plays him in his correct position.
Good midfielders I think are much easier to find / get than a dominant ruckman - hence why we have drafted a large number of ruckman in the hope that one or two will develop properly. So that's what I base my reasoning on

I really miss my footy
