Kane Lucas sidelined
Carlton midfielder Kane Lucas is likely to be sidelined for the rest of the season, after suffering a hamstring tear in his left leg during the second quarter of last Sunday’s match with Sydney at Etihad Stadium.

Carlton General Manager Football Operations Steven Icke confirmed the tear and said Lucas’s rehabilitation will be the major focus in the short term to ensure his long- term future is not at risk.

What will be his odds for the 2011 Rising Star Award?

Just eight games and 19, so he's eligible as a second year player.

Not surprising. Looked a pretty bad one at the time an grabbed just under the butt cheek..........rarely a minor injury when they grab it grimacing rather than just limp off. Just hope he hasn't injured the tendon, but even if he has he'll be on track for pre-season training.

......and just when he looked like he was going to show the others how to take the game on. :(

I wish we could tranfser his footskills to one of the other players.

Re: Kane Lucas (hamstring): season

Really unfortunate - he was showing signs of being an excellent footballer in his first season of senior football.

Oh well, he's got a long time to now get over it and then get straight into an extended preseason.

He'll be back better in 2011. Looking forward to it already - the kid is all class.

Always worry when players suffer from multiple soft-tissue injuries early in their careers. More often than not, it plagues them for their career.

I wish we could tranfser his footskills to several of the other players.

*fixed ;)

Such a shame as I have really enjoyed watching Kane this year.

Wishing him a speedy recovery.

I know a medico within the ranks of the club and ive been told its quite severe. only possible return would be if we made it deep into the finals.
