It's all a clever ploy. We all know how well "Kevin 07" worked. Now it's "Brendan 07%"

From Crikey...

It's difficult not to feel at least a skerrick of sympathy for Brendan Nelson. At his current rate of decline, he will reach 0% as preferred Prime Minister in late April. And, supposedly, he is a worse Opposition Leader than Alexander Downer. Those of us who recall the bizarre and hilarious implosion of Downer in 1994 would, in the spirit of Get Smart, find that hard to believe.

:D:D

I wouldn't be the opposition leader for all the tea in China (green tea of course) they have a good 10 years in the wilderness infront of them, a bit like the resent Carlton teams :)

Well you know what they say... it's better to have been unloved and lost then never to have been unloved at all. :D

(I even make myself groan)

When your approval rating is less than the current Interest Rate you are in trouble either way

I think his unborn grandson would be just about the right age to come into govenment by the time the Libs have dug themselves out of this hole. Ugly ugly time in politics, to much power in one groups hands IMO.

But on the upside I would still rather be Nelson than Demitrio which just proves no matter how low you go there is always a someone to look down your nose at :p

Time to reelect a new liberal leader before they completely fall apart. Kevin Rudd could dance naked and play a ukulele and still win  get your act together!

:D:D I will use that. Splendid.

Honestly, with a margin of error of 3%, his approval runs between 4% and 10%. The informal vote at the last election was 4%.

Speechless.

Look, we need a leader who won't throw dancing naked and playing a ukulele...... out the back door.

If he hasn't voted Liberal in his life, do you reckon he'd give himself favourable poll responses if he was canvassed? I'm unsure.

What a pitiful bunch they are. It would be truly hilarious, but Labor governments (or any governments, really) with laughable oppositions simply do not function as they could. This government has more talent than any since the first Hawke government, but they desperately need Malcolm Turnbull trying to rip them to pieces to do turn this unquestionable ability into the government the country requires.

I laugh at the book Kevin Rudd has just released about his first 100 days as PM. Makes me wonder what he could have done with that time. Apparently the whole thing is just him applauding himself for the magnificent job he did getting elected.

I've actually read it, want a copy?

It was freakin terrible, to many advisors spending to much time on it

Delivered like he was still hunting for votes. I can even forgive shitful delivery. But the content was horrible. Empty, un-inspiring and devoid of any recognition of the achievment and the moment. It sounded like he wrote it on a napkin whilst walking up the stairs.

Should have just went off the cuff. Was his big moment though I guess

Off the cuff wouldn't have produced much better. He just isn't that sort.

Hoping for Combet or Shorten contesting the 2013 election V Turnbull. Only then will we be coming back.
