Kelly to miss season start

Geelong midfielder James Kelly will miss the start of the 2006 premiership season.

Kelly suffered a fracture to his scapula (shoulder blade) during Geelong's NAB Cup win against Adelaide at AAMI Stadium last Saturday night.

The club has penciled Kelly in for a round three return against Hawthorn at Skilled Stadium.

In better news for the Cats, an MRI scan has cleared vice-captain Cameron Ling of any serious knee damage.

Ling, who took a knock to his knee during the NAB Cup grand final, is expected to line up for Geelong in its opening round clash against the Brisbane Lions at Skilled Stadium.

Probably worse than I thought it was going to be.

ARE u sure, Shell ? It was only a Who Cares Cup.
I remembered to give u your correct name.
I got slagged when I went for an abbreviation a while back.
When, oh when, is Tommy Harley going to play. He had a terribly injury-riddled 2005.
Maybe Moons should hope Stevie King stays off the field. Moons goes better when the skipper is away.

Could you please say that again in English??

I thort it was pretty simple really.
Cameron Mooney (u know, the big bloke who kicked 3 goals in the last quarter Sat. nite) seems to play better when Steve King is out of the side.
Or if u like ... Mooney takes on extra responsibility and seems to thrive on it with Kingy on the sidelines..

It's this part i don't particularly understand.

And i believe due to Mooneys leadership role, he'll thrive no matter who is or isnt on the ground.

Mooney played his best two games for the year in the Finals against Melbourne and Sydney and King was playing. I think your talking crap.

;) IT was on another thread when I jokingly (and light-heartedly) called u Shellie or Shellster.
I forget which one, Shell.
But you fired up and typed (in capitals) the fact that your forum name is "Shell".
You must have forgotten that exchange. It was in February, if I remember correctly but it was on a Geelong thread.

Nononononono.. no way am i gonna cop that! I did not fire up, nor did i type in CAPITALS..

My exact words were: "PS. Please dont call me Shellie. Cant stand it! :) "

There it is word for word! (and it was January 26th)

You may send me an apology if you wish!

just FYI Jock Clark 2, "Shellie" & "Shellster" aren't abbreviations of "Shell", being that both are actually longer. Abbreviations are a shortening of the name. :)

:p LSV --- no way did I suggest Shellster or Shellie were abbreviations of our forumer's name.
I merely said I light-heartedly referred to the forumer by one of those 2 nomenclatures. Like your goodself, I too am aware of the meaning of "abbreviation".
So, Shell, you did not type in capitals. My apologies and good work for tracking down the exact date of the exchange. January 26th.
Long time back it seems now. Is Shell a reference to the huge petrol refinery on Geelong's outskirts, or does it have a beachside meaning ??
Good luck to the Catters for season 2006. I would say they are clearly Top 4 material, and could go even higher than 2004's prelim. final.
