i didnt catch all of the game but the bits i saw his disposal was terrible. did this continue for the rest of the game or did he redeem himself??

surely with all the crap that woja and hunt get about their disposal by certain posters he should also come under the microscope for not hitting targets 20m away.

i think he needs to run himself into form in the VFL.

Depends who plays well tomorrow...there isn't much point bringing in someone like Koula who has the same problem.

Ideally, it would be good to give him a spell, but I doubt they will.

He has like size 15 feet.

He needs to be on the bottom of packs, giving out. He can't kick well enought to be a receiver. Maybe send him back to the magoos so he can learn the in-and-under game.

That's why his nickname is Sideshow Bob, pubic hair on his head and big white clown shoes :)

He fumbled a lot - is there something wrong apart from confidence and form. If I ever fumble like that it's because I've got my contact lenses in the wrong eyes:confused:

I know these comments may have some backs up, but Kelly has been ok since being taken aside by Bomber and told to lift his game. Great players don't have to be told that. Unfortunately for us, most of the Cats are like this.

If some of you think Kelly's disposal was bad, have a good hard look at Ling. Sure he is getting the ball, but his disposal (options) at times are quite bad. An all alone disposal on the flank, putting it inside 50, straight to an opponent is not good.

Last year he was a class above most, this year he is not. Seems too bulky at times, maybe too much weights.

lings disposal isnt great either but kelly has been ordinary ever since he walked straight back into the side after his injury and got shown a lesson by scott west. he doesnt seem quick, doesnt man up and now is struggling to hit targets.

What happened to Kelly? In his rookie year he would have been one of the quickest on our list. But as he has baulked up he seems to have lost all leg speed or is it injuries taking their toll?
As for Ling, can somebody please tell him he is allowed to kick the ball 50 metres+. I am starting to get sick & tired of those dinky 20-30 metre kicks.

I heard that he had a foot injury and was having injections in it so he could keep playing.. don't know where I heard that.

I'm not sure if his foot was the part causing him trouble, but if the above is true, it still doesn't provide the excuse for his skills. They've been mediocre for a long time, certainly alot longer than this recent niggle of his.

When his confidence is high, he is pretty slick by foot.

I thought he disposal was very crap, normally he is handy by foot, not extremly penetrating, but normally hits his targets.
must have been an off night.

Bu on his form, i thought his form in the first half against West Caost 2 weeks ago was some of his best for all year, seemed to be very hard at it, and won lots of contested ball.

Wow thankyou Mr 1960's. The should probably break out the vibrating fat melter belt while they are at it.

Kelly has the fundamentals to be a very good player for us. I think he’s had a pretty bad run with injuries which has severely affected his confidence and is obviously impacting on things like his foot skills and decision making. I don't think this season properly reflects his value as a player. You’d have to say he’s still got loads of potential for improvement so I’d be very reluctant to give him up for something like pick 17 (which is what’s being suggested on the Essendon board).

That was last year, he had plantar faciitis. He had surgery during the break which hopefully fixed the tear.

Kelly needs to step up after the break...he is an integral part of the team and needs to get his frikkin act together soon. Was coming along nicely before that broken leg and last yr plagued by the dodgy foot but hasnt delivered in 06. Obviously down on confidence ala his shocking disposal as of late...but he is a good player, we've seen it before and hopefully more often :thumbsu:
