As another dissapointing season ends, its time to focus on new and better opportunities, as you are aware, our rookies have been great and so far we have benefited...so its time to bring on our next young gun. Kelvin Lawrence.

Really hope this Kid gets an opportunity next year, been watching him since hes started at Casey.

Awesome small forward, who also has the ability to play in the guts.

This kid possesses speed and evasion, has clean hands and is good under pressure.

More importantly has an excellent kick and finds space and knows how to kick goals.

Highlights prior to his stint in casey/mfc - and just a taste of whats to come...

Yep, liked what I saw of him earlier in the year.

But worryingly I did hear he had problems settling in at the start of the year so I hope he's sorted that out and we give him another year.

Biggest problem is he looks very small and light.

I agree when you are as small as him you have to be very good.
But who knows If he is good enough he will make it.
Deserves a year on our list.

Give him the opportunity and I'm sure he will shine.

What were the problems you were referring to?

Think there was a bit of homesickness wasn't there?

Good thing for the club is that Jetta and Bennell are around for guidance.

... and Davey and Jurrah.

From the Casey reports, he seems to follow in the footsteps of Bennel and Jetta in that he shows flashes but goes missing for huge chunks of the game. He seemed to be sorting that out towards the end of the season though. Probably has shown enough this season and there are at least 2, probably 3 others on the rookie list who are ahead of him on the chopping block.

The problems with him at the start of the year with regards to settling had a bit to do with a family issue, possibly the passing of a family member not long after he got here or something similar, I can't remember exactly.

He is small and light, but he is only 19 I think so still has time to develop that side. It's also not that much of a problem, Jeff Garlett is pretty small and light. And, if you can lay 16 tackles in a game for Casey when you are that small, then it shouldn't be too big a problem.

Good to hear from you Eski, you are right about the above...

He also had his girlfriend move over & his dad has also been over here since early/mid season, this made the transition a lot easier for him...

He seemed to have a very good understanding with Fev & will shine at the top level if we have a big target that we kick to, then he can do what he does best, crumb the pack & kick goals...
