As I said in another post "I am dissenting our sh|tness, not praising it like everyone else"...The Bullants game got me thinking about this Cartlon list. The Bullants are a consistent, finals making team, yet they are Magoos. HOWEVER, many AFL featured sides don't fare as well, which show that utlimately some sides SERIOUSLY lack long-term depth based on the AFL/VFL list balance , eg: BUMMERS (but they can rot in hell), PIES and NORTH. The problem as I see it is these guys star in the magoos, then come into an AFL side that lacks leadership, and hence you get a weird 'cycle of failure' occuring, probably due to the added pressure of AFL footy and playing in front of 50000 people. Another thing is that the youngsters need to get more experience amongst A-grade teams like the Weagles, Adelaide, Melbourne etc.. as they can learn the tricks, skills etc..Watching Adelaide dismantle Stinkilda, it seemed apparent that what the A-grade don't do as much as the B-grade team do is make as many unforced errors. That is simply an experience thing, BUT IT CAN ALSO BE COACHED. Still, it's obvious the guys know how to win, and maybe Pago should drum that into their heads so they start to get the hang of it in the AFL where is REALLY counts.
