Carlton is set to take the wraps off another new talent this Sunday with key forward prospect Josh Kennedy to make his AFL debut against Collingwood at the MCG.
The fourth pick overall in last year's NAB AFL National Draft has overcome shoulder surgery in the off-season to make his debut and Denis Pagan hopes the West Australian can follow in the footsteps of another much-heralded recruit.
"He had a pretty good game in our VFL team last week - kicked three goals, took 10 marks - and we just think that he's the future of our club. Marc Murphy's done so well and we hope that Josh can do likewise on Sunday," Pagan said on Wednesday.
"He's a big boy - he's probably 6'6" in the old language - he's probably 96 kilos, he was the first tall player to be picked in the draft last year and he's part of the Carlton Football Club's future."
Noted for his strong attack on the ball and ability to gather below his knees, it could prove to be a baptism of fire for the 18-year-old with the clash of traditional rivals set to draw a large crowd to the home of football.
