You have two big backman in Kepler and Andrew Lee who have not been given many opportunities this year. With Sheedy now gone, and Knights having had alot to do with both at Bendigo, are these young guys likely to be kept on?

I noticed in the Herald Sun, that both were on the Going, Going Gone, part, when they were reviewing the Bombers 2007 year.

Both players would likely be given another chance at another club, so what are the opinions from Bomber supporters on these two boys?

Both will be kept. Kepler because he can play, and Lee because he has a contract and a small chance of making it.

lee has a contract whilst knights obviously rates kepler as he was part of the panel that voted him the best and fairest of out vfl side

I wouldn't give the Herald Sun season review too much credibility. In one section it rated our clearance percentage (approx. 42%) as one of the best in the comp.... but elsewhere suggested Jobe Watson as trade bait. Do they realise who got all of those clearances!?!

Keps will definately benefit from having Knights as senior coach, as Knights will play him forward, where he has done extremely well for Bendigo Bombers.
Not sure on Andrew Lee, has he been injured this year or had an interupted pre season due to surgery? He seemed stagnate a bit this year.
When he did play seniors last year, he did pretty well. I'd be inclined to give him another year or 2 as he is still only 20 and developing.

They also said Tom Hurley was a possible pick for the saints last year with pick 9. They really have no idea.

I would trade both of them because i just don't think they are up to it, and hopefully other teams may see differently and essendon gets something out of it.

Kepler definantly has to go, he is way to slow to be a player in modern day football. Obviously he has ability which he has shown in his performances in the VFL. But in the VFL, the game is definantly slower than in the AFL and when he comes back up he gets exposed by the opposition with his lack of pace.
So we must trade him now whilst he still has some trade value before he gets exposed for another seaon and we get absolutely nothing for him in return.

How many 6' 7" speed machines do you think there is in the AFL. You are silly if you expect Keplar to outrun the Chris Judds of this world. Kep will be a player ...Just needs time like all big blokes

I don't expect him to be a speed machine but i do expect him to be able to compete with players of his same ilk. To this stage of his career you cannot possibly say that he has done that at AFL level. He has struggled full stop why trade him now whilst he has some trade value in the league.

I heard that David Teague is available for trade as well as a KPP at Port Melb by the name of Luke Livingston. I know from previous conversations with you that you thought "highly" of both of them! They could be your answer possibly???

I was looking more towards Kane Acland and Jason Saddington and throw in captain of the "BIG MAC" Sir Lance.

I just thought with you guys willing to keep giving Courtney Johns and Mark Bolton a game that these two guys would have to be monty's to get a game. I was just trying to help out thats all. :p

Just remember this guy was picked up at 6 the 2003 draft that's 3 seasons and 49 games that he has had to develop.
Its not good enough that a number 6 draft pick is still playing a majority of his games in the 2nds.
But looking at the draft the 2003 draft class was extremly weak but Essendon did do well with Stanton 13, Nash 28 , and Dyson 44 with their later selections.
To be honest the top ten from this draft could be considered well below other years.
That's why we should cut our loses and get rid of this guy whilst we still may get something for him!
Because if he does not make significant improvment in the next season the only option left will be to de-list him.

he isnt anything

Agreed!

Look, if they do keep him then I don't know what they'll do with him.
I'm so sick of him and his dinky hospital passes that lead to turnovers in the defensive 50!

He never looks confident and after all these years he needed to show something.....and all he showed was that he ain't much chop!

Don't know about Lee........only seen him play once or twice.

Ever think he's always been played out of position by Sheedy

What position do u want him to play? He has been overtaken now by Gumbleton and probably Neagle as a forward. I just don't know what he can add to our team

He can play HFF, leading out and creating space for Lloyd and Lucas as well as drifting back and taking marks, he's more than good enough if used properly.

Gumbleton and Neagle won't play every week, and won't be injury free for ever either.
