Kerr Commits to Eagles

Just confirmed on Sports Tonight on Channel 10. Ditto that Burns is locked in as an assistant coach. May the "we've failed to land a big name" police commence their diatribe.

No,i'm not upset about this at all.I don't think we were ever going to get him.I'm just glad he's not going to Carlton! But this makes it more imperative that we target Cousins in my opinion. We desperately need more experience and class in the midfield, and he fits the bill on both counts.

Scott Burns

Always been one of my favourite Pies players and now an assistant at my club.

Seems to me that he has the ideal background and charachter/personality for a coach.

What are the thoughts of Pies fans on what he might add to the Eagles?

Re: Scott Burns

glad he didn't go to Carlscum. Scott will be a great asset for your club. Great role model for your young playing group. Hopefully he coaches Collingwood one day either him or Bucks will make me happy.

Very happy for SSB.

Wouldn't have really bothered me where he went but WCE was on top of my list and are always on top of my list on where I'd like to see our greats do apprenticeships.

Don't know what it is but they are a successful club, a WA and AFL powerhouse, have resources, young playing group and other quality assistants to learn from including coach in Woosha.

Also have a very good history drafting young talent, which is very important so they can learn a few things inside the inner sanctum.

Would like Bucks to follow SSB and join WCE before they both return to the Lexus Centre.

Don't really know why people got so excite about Kerr.
He was never going to leave. He is a good player, no doubt.
However, he will never be as good as when he had Judd and Cousins in the same side.
He would always get the 3rd best opponent from the opposition.
I don't think that Judd has been as good at Carlton as he was at West Coast for the same reason.
The 3 complemented each other and they performed better.
It helps when you have class next to you.

What a bad argument. ANY good player plays better with other good players around them. It's common sense. Are you going to tell me Bartel and Ablett are just 'good' players because they are surrounded by each other and other quality players?

Daniel Kerr remains a superstar of the comp because he's proven it with his skill and ability, regardless of who he's played alongside. As a club looking for an inside player with pace and skill, Kerr is probably the number one player in the comp that fits our need. I'd have given them Didak without hesitation in a straight swap, but at least he is staying put and not going to Carlton.

Another big fish rumour bites the dust.

WCE said long ago it would taken an arm and a leg to get him.... no one listened in Victoria including the media as it sells papers.

Where are all the signed sealed delivered ... I have it on good word,..my close informant tells me posters gone?
