Perhaps if we'd lost more games, sacked our coach mid-season instead of post-season, and aired any problems our board were having through the media in controversial circumstances the result might've gone his way?

I think what swayed the judges was the fact that Kositzcezietski?? held down a key position all year and Kerr was just a midfielder. Fair call i suppose but if i could choose id rather have Kerr.

But surely Kositzcezietski was well beaten in most games. Cerainly so against the Eagles.

Maybe the fact that only on west australian was on the panel (chris mainwaring) had smething to do with it.

There's nothing wrong with 2nd place. Of the 100 or so players eligible at the start of the season he was voted 2nd, very impressive.

And as he is still so young, expect him to get an AA selection before he turns 20!!

I suppose its not bad considering Kerr was chosen something like 38 or something and Kositzcezietski was the number 2 draft pick. I think our of it all though we gained more because those types of performances were expected from Kositzcezietski but Kerr's performance was a welcome surprise and with McDougall still to play i think we did alright.

Actually Ko****zke got robbed, since Ansett has gone belly-up, he won't be seeing any of that money they were offering

Seriously, Kerr would of definately had a better chance of winning the award if he was playing over East. I think there should only be 1 award for the first best year player and that should be voted by the players themselves, not some media award.
