If we can get Jesse White in the PSD it's a no brainier IMO.
I'm not sure what price we'd have to put on his to head to deter other clubs though.

Carltank, brissy, dogs and st Kilda could all be stumbling blocks for us.And maybe Melbourne too.

50c and a bag of Doritos's should deter the other clubs from bidding for him.

White is not an upgrade on Taberner or Hannath. Do not want.

Jesse White would be a great depth addition to our list in an area of major need. Taberner needs another 3 years before he's anywhere near White's physicality in the forward line and Hannath is a ruck.

White will hold the best tall defender and just needs to bring the ball down to let our elite small forwards do the crumbing.

The only problem with Pavlich is the defensive intensity up and down the field otherwise I think (barring injury) will easily play 2 more years for Freo at FF.

is Ben Griffiths worth a look at?
he isn't getting a game at the Tigers & may be disgruntled, but I reckon he could be another Jake Carlisle type.

Well said Mal.

We might have to pay him more than market value, but if he comes via PSD and doesn't take away our draft selections, happy days.Of course this is all pure speculation.

that was nearly a decade ago.
I would be prepared to trade with ANY club if we could get what we needed for a reasonable price.
nothing about emotion.
purely about the outcome

Nah to Hell with Port! Im happy pinching Danyle Pearce Via Free Agency last season. 2 years ago Port would of demanded a top 10 pick. Look what Picks Port got for Shaun Burgoyne.

While we are at it Im gutted Mason Shaw didnt fall to us. Im hoping Josh Simpson was not a wasted pick. Hoping we get him at the end of next season.

You wont be seeing the Crows and Swans trade with each other any time soon.

Why would you not want him? He would be a significant upgrade on Tabs. Tabs is only 89kg and needs to Bulk up another 5-10 kgs to handle the physical Demands of the AFL. Jessie White is 100kgs and would slot straight in our 22 in 2014. Under Freo he would be the 2nd tall and would easily get at least 30 goals a season.

Jesse White could be the most athletic tall on our list after McPharlin and Zac Clarke.

I have been saying this for the last 2 months. We might be forced to Trade our 3rd round pick to get him. That or get him in The ND because 1 team will get him in the PSD.

If Melbourne want another key forward they are more of a joke than I thought...

White would not be best 22 ahead of Bradley, Clarke/Griffin at the moment. His stats are not good when taking out the GWS game.

I'd like to see us put Kepler in a forward line with Tippett and Pyke and see how many goals he kicks. Keplers best form was when Pavlich wasn't in the forward line as our no.1 key forward. Take out those games and I reckon Keplers record looks pretty bad as well, not to mention its actually worse than Whit in the first place.

Dominant big forwards are the toughest players to recruit. That's why Jeremy cameron is the most valuable youngster in the competition. Freo have been blessed to have Pav for so long - little doubt he'll go into the Hall of Fame in the first year he's eligible.

It takes smart recruiting, a bit of luck and usually a heap of patience to find these guys. Bloody Geelong got about 60 mostly mediocre games out of Hawkins before he came good. Hurley and Crameri's reputations are way out of step with their performance. Apart from Hawthorn, who have 2 of the best, almost all clubs are prepared to spend big money to entice even ok, but not really fantastic, tall forwards into their clubs. Eg Dawes and especially that spud q Lynch.

So Freo have maybe drafted a few that haven't worked out, but really it's like trying to find a needle ina haystack. I'm happy enough for Kep, assuming he recovers ok, to continue his mostly not bad efforts while we try and unearth someone good from the draft. Not keen at all on paying big bucks for guys like Jack Reiwoldt - he's not worth it IMO. When Pav retires, well I s'pose then we can bring someone in under free agency...if we haven't drafted anyone good. Tabs and Tanner have both looked promising this year.

I would love him to be playing for us, having Mayne and him as the 3rd and 4th tall would be incredible. By the sound of it he has the ability to apply defensive pressure and kick goals, and if you put him under Mayne's tutelage he could be anything.

He may even make the impossible occur and stop the comparisons between Pitt and Darling (I said MAY)

Thorp said he was playing mainly midfield but could be suited to a hard-running high half forward role if given another AFL chance.

"My strength is my endurance. I can run all day and take some pretty solid marks, but play where the team needs me more than anything," he said

Western Bulldogs are believed to be closely watching him, while Adelaide, Brisbane Lions, Carlton and St Kilda are also looking to add attacking marking options.

We really just need to plonk him at FF and limit the running he does in a game IMO, the more kms he covers the less he will play at this stage. And he can be a liability if hes playing up the ground and not getting a kick, so bad is his defensive pressure.

On the Jesse White scenario, i'm actually really coming around on that. Hes had a really good last month fro what i have seen.

White would beat out Kepler, he's currently stuck behind a lot of talls at Sydney and has been for some time (Goodes, Pyke, Reid, Mumford, Tippett). The other benefit is he's been in the Sydney system which is very similar to Lyon's. He's a role player and doesn't need to be Pavlich.

Already wanted him, just made me want him even more. Would it be to much to take him and bring Jesse White over, to me we need to and could even take another tall in the draft + If they can't all fit he seems like he could play flank/small forward or obviously through the midfield as well.

So what are people prepared to trade to get a key forward. As far as I can tell we are out of free agency options and most people can agree that the kind of forward we will get in the PSD without trading is going to be ... well limited.

So cards on the table. Who are you putting up for a trade?

Is it Mitchie or Sheridan as they are interchangable
Is Mellington not going to get a game with Son Son, Balaz and the Croz sharking the forward line
Is it Hannath because we have 5 rucks

Would people be prepared to pay more to get a real talent.

Is it Suban because there are a number of good young 'uns
Is it Zark cos Hannath is a lump that will do the Job
Are you going the Gu as you recon that we have all the endurance we need

Who's got the guts to make a big call and put a real player in the spotlight like Hill.

Come on people what have you go.

I'll swap a Sheridan and a 2nd round for a White

This is about where it's at to be honest. No big name and no Aaron Black. Jesse White has been quoted as saying after he was on the trade block last year he wanted to make the most of his opportunities going forward.. While on fortunate to be a trade target again, i think he'd appreciate the chance.

Whether it's a sheridan (I dont really see michie or crozier going into the trade block), or a couple of schoithe types (ie. that next teir below michie/croz) it seems like the most likely deal to get done
