AFL Club
Richmond
Caught a little bit of AFL teams last night on fox and according to them Richmond lead the league in the following stats for the last 5 weeks.

Clearances
Contested Possessions
Tackles
Effective long kicks
least points against

Not bad at all, and I think these stats are why we are all so excited about the brand of footy we have played the last month. These aren't the kind of stats you get just by chance.

I know a lot of other supporters think its just because of Jack that we are doing well but if these stats are true then Jack is just finishing off the good work of others.

Well done Tiges, keep up the outstanding work.

The ones that stood out for me are:

- No 1 in the league for effective long kicks in the last five weeks (or something like that)
- Least amount of points scored against in the last five weeks - Dimma building the side around a solid back six
- Averaging 80 tackles per game last five weeks - eg along with contested possession, we beat the Swans at their own game last week

Not sure what was in the water the day we played Hawthorn, but we've both turned it around immeasurably since then.

aparently the day we played hawthorn, dimma told the players the games we played untill now doesnt mean shit & our season starts now !!

the team has a ladder at the club which is adjusted every week depending on the results of each round and it started the round we played the dawks

sounds like a pretty good idea & would keep the young kids still intrested & would love seeing the richmond tigers on the top of the ladder.

I tend to think that the low points against is a direct result of the high tackle count. If we tackle hard in the midfield and apply pressure at opposition half back the opposition forwards have a hard time scoring IMHO. Also, I think our pressure inside forward 50 would be as good as anyone in the league in the last 2 months.
