The West Coast Eagles have continued to build momentum ahead of the 2016 season by extending the contracts of three key players.

Hard-running midfielder Chris Masten and versatile defenders Will Schofield and Brad Sheppard have all put pen to paper, committing to the end of 2019.

Xavier Ellis - Signed a 1-year extension (2016) in June 2015

Why? He's pretty valuable to our team and obviously highly regarded by the playing group and coaches.

Just because we have Barrass and we might be able to snare a good player at a Vic club for him.

I like Schofield - that's the reason why I think he has value. But I reckon he's best as a tall KPD rather than a utility, and that might keep Barrass out of the side. I'd hate to lose Barrass due to lack of opportunity.

Anyway, more than happy we signed him up.
