KFC V Red Rooster

For a once in a while 'feed the family' meal, I don't know if anything can match KFC's offerings: I'll hang on to any leftover tenders/fillets/nuggets and DIY a couple of wraps with them for lunch the day after.

But for the standard "main/chips/drink" meal I've never regretted a RR burger or the chicken roll.

I'd still take Schnitz over either nine times out of ten, which probably explains why both are like a once or twice a year prospect.

Schnitz is great but pretty pricey though

My last rooster roll was flimsy, flaccid and soggy. But it was pipping hot and I sure made a mess eating it in the car.

KFC easily. I think they're probably the best of the cheap and easy takeaway franchises. I find them quite tasty, fresh, and they don't have the awful greasy taste like McDona;d's etc do.

Red Rooster I'll be honest I've had twice in the last 20 years, but they've never appealed. Prefer chicken breast over wings so never go there.

the chicken at Red Rooster now days is a bit hit or miss. i find your better off going to the IGA for the bachelor's hangbag you can at least get a six pack also and not stuck with choosing a pepsi or coke

KFC's chips are alot better than Red Roosters. KFC for me.

That’s why I feel they aren’t as crispy as red. Often a bit flaccid.

Everything in that box is superior to what KFC would put up.

If I had seen this thread 10 years ago I would've voted for KFC, but now I reckon RR is the better franchise. They've really upped their game while KFC has steadily declined in quality. The Flayva wrap smokes the Twisters and unfortunately KFC potato and gravy is a dry, gluggy cup of crap compared to RR's gravy. Meals at RR feel more filling and the chicken is just juicier and higher in quality. I can't stand the teeny bits of bone and gristle that KFC try to pass off as chicken; it's like I'm a stray cat being fed bin scraps. Better drink selection at RR, too.

One thing that does annoy me about the RR near my work is if you get a boxed meal, some of the chicken will be piping hot and other pieces will be cold. Sometimes I'll just go for a combo because of that, which is usually filling enough anyway.

Will admit I'm still partial to a double crunch combo back at KFC, though.
