It must be a directive from Ratts but why do we continue to handball when should be kicking into the forward line? Always puts extra pressure on the receiver and makes forwards double back and waste more energy

I hate uninformed posters. Brisbane are zoning off and we are using our run & carry to carve straight through it. Sure, there's a few suspicious handballs in there which are putting us under pressure but id MUCH prefer to see the ball moving quickly than being chipped around the back half like Brisbane...

One of my biggest gripes. Would much rather see more attack though kicks, which puts pressure on the opposition defence rather than constant handballing round in circles. I can only really interpret it as a directive from the coach to look for the oppurtunity with the lowest risk rather than bombing away to gain ground.

Exactly. We kick long at every opportunity and the ball will come right back over our heads.

watch the game and you'll see. we are trying to run the ball yes but when there is perceived pressure(which is a lot) always handball, handball, handball. has to be more talk from everyone around.

Because I disagree with one area of our game style? Ok.

I didn't like the first line in your post mate. Makes you look like you somehow think your better than other posters or more knowledgeable.

With all due respect Juddy...(great name btw), he has a point.
We can't kick long atm, Brisbane have anout 5 players in front of fev alomst as soon as we go to kick out, so really we have no choice but to run and carry the ball, then try and spot up targets inside 50.
Credit to Brisbane they are working extremely hard to get back in their zone, I wonder if they'll be able to keep it up though. They won't win the game playing like that. You'd think they would come out attacking in the 2nd half, then we should see a bit more space for fev and co.

i didn't see it happen once in second half, which was great. but still happened too much in 1st half, and has too much in previous games

Do you have the TV set on upright or something? Because from my wide angle all I see is Brisbane Lions players dropping back just wasting for a sloppy kick.

Every time we've bombed away rather then run and carry we've stuffed it up and turned it straight back over.

Coming out of the backline, we look up for a marking target but there isn't one. So instead of kicking inside the corridor it's either handball or kick along the boundary line. If we handball, we risk turnovers. If we play along the boundary line, it's such a low-percentage angle that even the great Fevola struggles to convert.

Dare I say it, we miss Wiggins. I'm not talking the set shot inside 50 but taking marks along the wing, where he is better than even money of beating his man on a lead. 10 weeks ago he was one of our most important players - averaging 5-10 marks/game. We're still a couple of years before Tiller and O'Keeffe are ready to assume that role.

I am much more concerned with the way we are kicking in after a point. Every week, there are instances of either kicking it straight to an opponent or duffing a kick. Has been comedy capers on occasions. Heart in mouth stuff every time we kick out, regardless of who it is.

Coaches, please solve.
