Quick question - Has any player previously been in a position of TWICE having a kick to win (or even draw) a game after the final siren?

David Mundy's kick after the siren against Richmond today follows on from his attempt in Rd 14 (?) 2014 against Geelong where he missed a shot to win. I can't remember any other player twice being in this position.

Didn't he also kick one against Tigers previously

Well I've seen us miss two on the siren. Daniel Motlop against the Saints and Justin Westhoff against the Suns (lol).

Both had setshots directly in front and it was clear as day that they were going to miss it due to their reaction when the siren went off.

Have Richmond had the most games decided by kicks after the siren of recent time?

Mundy x2
KarHunt
Sam Lloyd

Jack Riewoldt had a kick after the siren against St.Kilda in 2008 and didn't make the distance.

Plus the McMahon game.

1920 VFA: Footscray v North Melbourne. North Melbourne trailed 51–56 in the semi-final, and Considine had a shot after the bell from 30yds out. Fans stormed onto the field, and prevented Considine from taking his kick. The players eventually left the field, the match was declared a no result and a replay was held the next week.
Wow

Yeah Richmond have been involved in heaps of games with shots to win after the siren.

I'm fairly sure my mob hasn't been involved in one since 2003 (Tarrant). Can't think of one since then anyway.

I remember around 2003, North vs Brisbane. Vossy had a shot on the run from 50, the siren sounded whilst the ball was mid air, he missed, and the final score was 109-109.

Brisbane have had a couple. Bradshaw to draw with Essendon 2009/10 ish. And Barry Hall won a game for Sydney against the Lions in 2005.

Geelong has had more. Off the top of my head:

Peter Riccardi v Carlton, 2002

Billy Brownless, qualifying final, 1994

Gary Ablett Snr, prelim, 1994

Jimmy Bartel (point after the siren) v Hawks, 2009

Tom Hawkins v Hawthorn, 2012

Plus Brad Johnson (2008 or '09), David Mundy (2013) and Isaac Smith (2016 qualifying final) both missed shots after the siren that would have beaten us.

Similar, in 2010, the Hawks and Dogs played a Friday night MCG classic. The margin never exceeded two goals at any stage and at the end of each quarter there was no more than a straight kick in it. Bulldogs lead at the end of each quarter by 6, 2 and 5 points.

With seven seconds left, Hawks lead by three points. There was a boundary throw in on the wing. All seemed lost for the Dogs, until Easton Wood gathered the ball and charged towards half forward. He kicked the ball long toward goal from 60m and the siren sounded in mid air. Ryan Griffen was in the goal square and he had a brain fade. All he had to do was shepphard the ball through but he started walking away from the play, allowing his opponent to mark the ball. The kick was definitely on target and most believe it would have taken one bounce and gone through had Griffen simply blocked his opponent.
