That's the whole frustration though - there is nothing wrong with his kicking style. He can kick 50m comfortably and accurately when in form. He's not like say McCarthy who had an appalling kicking technique, so the explanation why he's so erratic has to be between the shoulders.

What I'm getting at is that when he isn't confident or is under pressure to slot an easy one he would get his knee up and poke at the ball. You could tell if he was confident and motivated on how he kicked.

Why couldn't we snag KK again ?
What were Laidley and his recruiting troops doing ?
Fancy going for Ben Ross ahead of the Great Man, Kent.

What does the neck have to do with his kicking??

Anyway, I wish Kent all the best, but he'll have watch out when he plays Geelong. I bet the crowd will give it to him everytime he makes a mistake, or even gets the ball.

As a fourth option up forward he'll be more than decent I think, will certainly provide problems for whoever the opposition matches up on him as he has had a lot of experience playing against other teams best defenders as the Cats FF.

VERY good point. That sort of experience could be valuable in the Tigers lineup.

Haven't forgotten that he was our leading goalkicker - but 2 of those 4 years he was under 50 goals which for a full forward is just not good enough.

But where was the support? No one else was kicking goals, leaving him to carry the forward line, something everyone knew he realistically couldn't do.

He was a good contributor for us when we needed a goalkicker. He had many flaws, but overall there were more positives than negatives from his 6 years at the club.

Kent is a full forward that has questionable kicking skills to say the least, cannot mark anything above his shoulders and has lost his one valuable asset(speed) probably due to bulking up and his hamstring.

He has never been a rover, cannot crumb at all and not a noted tackler, about the only value he could be is one on one in the goal square and even then he will fail on any decent defender. I just don't think he is AFL standard anymore (and was only just 2-3 years ago).
