I know a lot of people on this site don't rate him that highly but I reckon he is at this stage the clear league MVP this year. In fact i reckon he should have come close last year too and is the best player in the league and has been for the last 18months closely followed by lebron..what do other ppl think

Sorry man. Not MVP this year but certainly deserves one.

Dunno if it will ever happen now though.

Agreed.

It's down to KG/Chris Paul I think, barring a major turnaround from one of the other teams.

Statisticly Howard>>KG quite easily but the fact KGs such a loud leader, his defense is better and the Celts are a dominating team pulls them closer together however I dont think Dwight should be counted out of it.

I also think Lebron is still very in range although if the Cavs have it tough with their record it'll be like Kobe.

Howard's dropped off a lot recently, and Orlando aren't winning all that much. I think he's probably out barring a monster Feb/March.

Lebron won't get it unless Cavs win almost 50 games...and I can't see it happening. If Lebron gets it this year without a ton of wins...Kobe would have a real right to be pissed about missing out in his 35ppg year.

chris paul... he is a great player but come on, he's not mvp material just yet. i dont know how much of kobe u have seen this year but he has been ridiculous, yesterdays game on espn being an example of what he's been producing all year. can turn a game on its head with one play! i agree with kg tho altho it does help having paul pierce and ray allen on ur side..i think it'll def come down to between kobe and kg by seasons end

I've seen plenty of Kobe. How many times have you seen Chris Paul this year? The kid is amazing.

As good as Nash and Kidd have been over the last 5 years...Paul has some gifts that those two could only dream of. He's also leading a team without any other superstars to a top 4 record in the west. His age shouldn't count against him.

MVP is always tough. Kobe, Paul, Howard, KG, Lebron and maybe even AI are all having good enough years. If we're worrying about team record (which is usually the case) I say Paul. If not then Lebron James.

If Kobe leads the Lakers to the top 4 in the west, they'd be hard pressed not to give him the MVP.

If Kobe never wins MVP he will go down as the greatest player to never win one throughout his career.

I don't know enough about some other guys, but I think this comment has some merrit.

He'd have to be top 5 at least.

Lebron James will win it quite easily, is absolutely killing the competition and winning the games that the cavs are winning off his own hand!! No comparison between Kobe n Lebron

You look like an unbiased poster.

Theres some knowledge for ya...

100% correct.

Also Shaq (the most dominant player ever) only has 1 MVP, Nash 2.

i guess when other than when he was a laker there was real competition for the mvp - hakeem, jordan even robinson and malone...

in 00-01 iverson was unbelievable leading the sixers to the finals.
