Wonder if the O.P will see him slide?

Also got a query about him for those in the know.

In his afl.com.au video he seemed to go long to the contest all the time, is this a reqular occurence with him or is he capable of spotting up and hitting targets on the lead as well?

Seems to have a pretty nice all-round game though and I wouldn't mind him at 10 going on some of the stuff I've read about him.:thumbsu:

Haha, thought you might have a bit of info on him though Footyman as I've read a bit of the TAC Cup thread and you seem to know your stuff.:thumbsu:

:D:thumbsu:

Definitely can hit players on the lead with ease, but he definitely prefers to kick through the football though which will see him kick long quite a fair bit. I still recall a practice match against Sandringham at the start of the year where he spun around a couple of players whilst shaking tackles from a centre bounce and then proceeding to hit a forward (Westo I think?) lace out from a 50 metre kick off a couple of steps.. the ball didn't go any higher than 5-10 metres off the ground, was unbelievable:thumbsu:

I think the fact he has played a lot of football with Butch (who thrives in contested situations) has meant he has become accustomed to kicking long to him. Certainly has the skills to adapt his game to hitting players on the lead more often though.

hope that helps.

Essendon (10)
Adelaide (13)
Sydney (14)

seem the logical ones to me.

If he isn't taken by any of those 3 then I have no idea where he'll end up.

If he has to go interstate I'd rather it be to Port or Sydney.

Are you his mate?

Seems a very nice player who earnestly hunts the footy, but I'm wavering in my enthusiasm vs Bastinac.

Stevens doesn't have the best kick, eh, and OP is not a great sign.

Pls excuse the Devil's Advocate approach, as I'd be very comfortable acquiring him, but would rather not a Luke Brennan Mk II

I can't see much to this guy based purely on the video, the first 2 minutes are pretty much all clangers, and the last 2 minutes are late in the 4th quarter.

Did dead set zero impressive things in the vid.
Hardly a clearance.
No nice kicks.
Clearly no pace.

Would be dirty if Geelong took him at 17 and not Bastinac even though people think he will go earlier.
Wouldnt be surprized if he slides well into the second round.

Funny i didnt even see that uptheguts posted that he was also keen on Bastinac or Stevens.
For me i just like what i see from Bastinac.
He is composed and looks to have good sideways movement like Pendelbury and is an elite runner.
Throw in his leadership qualities and his solid foot skills on left and right side and i have know doubt i would rather him than Stevens.

TBH im not too keen on stevens atm...

From that video, he appears to be really slow, average kick, and all-round seems a pretty average player.

Are there any other videos of him, coz being a WC boy now, id love to see some "good signs."

trade you him for jetta? :p

Seriously, he wasn't as good this year as last year becuase the OP taking the power away from his kicking and running slowly. If you go back to tapes from last year you will see why he was so highly rated. Terrific leader too!

The WCEFC must be the leading rehab institute for OP in the world.

He was considered a top 5 pick before the champs IIRC.

As ppl with OP will tell you it can certainly cripple your game.

Reminds me of a Lenny Hayes type, an old fashioned footballer who will give you 100% and knows how to find the footy, was happy to pick him up with our last pick.

Being from Perth we are not exactly sure of what we have got given he only found out about his OP towards the champs.
